To be fair I'm pretty sure turn 2 is the only place you actually use voke. 99% of BRDs don't seem to have B4B though so I can definitely cosign.

You should probably be happy about this. With the low intellect of the average random, can you imagine how many would pop Blood for Blood for the extra damage and then die because they got hit by something like Titan's stomps?

do smns even have the burst to pull off a tank? i mean apply dots, contagion, bane, ruin spam with fester. if you can't keep hate on multiple mobs off a smn something is wrong with your tanking.

If you're doing big pulls and SMN isn't quelling then they can pull hate, yeah.

In terms of tanking 1 mob, given that I have say, 2GCD worth of time to do something first to grab hate, I've only ever a WHM pull hate off me.

If we're talking about multiple mobs, either due to AoEs or inability to spread hate properly, I've had mobs pulled off by WHM, BLM, BRD, other tanks. This is only talking about the marked (1) mob, don't care shit if you pull (3) because you deserve it.

Although DoTs are potent I don't think I've ever had it overcome flash + scorn spam.

Though then again, only times I've done WP with a SMN there was a BLM involved so the BLM would always overshadow the SMN in hate generation. Perhaps if there wasn't a BLM the SMN could have pulled hate off me.

I rip hate all the time from DF tanks on SCH (and y'know, DF so we're not skipping much and fighting one pack at a time). I tell em FLASH MORE but hey SCH is DPS/Heal/Tank all in one apparently so I'm cool with it.

Think the worst (best) I had was a run where PLD quite literally lost hate on every single pull with more than one mob and never got it back (and even ripped hate for like half of flayer as well). Also on the same run a SMN used Garuda for trash, Titan for flayer (wtf), and Ifrit for demon wall. So that was a thing.

People suck at SMN, lol. Gives a horrible perception to the job too, I was in a prae with another SMN yesterday(yay Spiritbonding) and they were doing only Bio2 and ruin while using ifrit. I asked why only bio2 and they said because it's stronger than bio despite the cast time.... <_>

I've also done an AK where I was asked to change to a "real DD" like drg because the other DD was SMN and they though we couldn't kill wall with two "weak dps classes".

Oh, and there was the time I was told id be kicked from the party if I didn't stop auto attacking because the leader had enough of melee mages in XI and he just wouldn't stand for it in xiv.

Nah, I've never lost hate to a SMN (Thank god or I'd never show my face on PLD again). Most just seem really mediocre compared to other DPS

I'm trying to improve my PLD friend's AoE tanking so we could maybe speed up WPs and such, but I feel like AoE tanking was deliberately meant to be rough if your DPS are going all out with it. Unless there's some trick I can pass off to him to make it easier.

When I do WP SR without a bard it's a complete pain in the ass. Loss of FR means that nukes aren't as hard and stuff lasts longer. Loss of MB means that I rarely have enough MP to hold hate which ends with dead BLMs. Still trying to find a way to fix it, even with riot blades constantly I can't hold hate without a bard.
