FFXIV Random Complaint Thread: Look forward to it

Raaarrrgggh titan and lolps3 limitations. It's near impossible to find 7 other people who are competent and can dodge plumes/landslide. What infuriates me the most is when I watch tanks try to provoke switch immediately before landslide, run through titan, and get hit and fall off. Getting knocked off by sumo stomp comes in second.

At least die to something like double plumes or adds.

This. So much this. Although in my FC's case, it seems to be more of an issue with the non-FC tank taking Mountain Buster to the face (seriously, how does a WAR take a 5k hit on the very first MB of the fight?) and/or people losing their shit when the row bombs come up bad. Just stand on a non-Landslided bomb and fucking eat it if you have to, better to take a single bomb to the face than get knocked off from Landslide or die outright from two bombs.

Also, did a DF (I know) Titan HM to help with a FC mate's relic. Oceans of space to move around in, and moves came out so slow I thought my connection was screwing up. How are people still dying to this?

Had four of us do titan last night, pick up the other four. A few fights in, we all start getting the rubber band effect. You could tell it wasn't bs because three people would die to a stack of plumes. I fucking hate that fight.

Turn 2. 8~9+ weeks and counting of no Allagan Gauntlets of Striking. Everyone on my server seems to have them, even my friends in other statics who have a MNK at like level 12. Infuriating.

People in Titan Extremes who think Gear matters more than dodging. Had someone bitching last night that we couldn't clear Titan EX with 2 i70 BRDs in the party. Beat it in like 3 tries. The guy was honestly blown away.

And lastly, Titan Earrings of Striking or whatever they're called. They're useless no matter which Melee DPS job you're on. I could've needed but I'm not that big of a scumbag/lootwhore. BLM friend won them who doesn't even have any melee jobs leveled... AoE confirmed for true lootwhore status <.<;;

Why are they useless? I have them and I use them. You have maiming I guess? The accuracy isn't needed outside coil. I parsed myself for 2 hours on ifrit EX and I had 100% acc at 394. If I'm missing something though, I'd like to know.

I joined a PUG group for T1-T4 last night having disconnected at T1 ADS the night before. When the leader couldn't get the group in, I informed him I had engaged ADS and therefore it would lock everyone out if I didn't get lead. It took 7 goddamn minutes for them to finally pass it over because they were under the assumption that I was gonna dump them into T5 and that I was bullshitting about the ADS engage lockout entirely.

I get the paranoia, but fucking hell.

Technically they are the best DPS earrings if you don't ever need Accuracy. But you need Accuracy for the content where gear matters . . . so . . . my original comment.
Perhaps I misspoke. I should say they're useless to me.

My coil group's curse applies to extreme drops: healing gear doesn't exist. A billion tank/caster/striking/aiming drops. Only one we got was Titan's earrings and they're garbage.

Spending my limited playtime in a queue reserving an instance is starting to get ridiculous. Dailies, CT, PvP all have insanely long reserving instance times. And in the case of CT I experience so much fuckery I can never go in. Last night I was in a pre-made CT party and after being in queue for 30mins and repeatedly being prompted to queue only for some other alliance to have a member not be ready, a guy in my party d/c'd dropping us out of the queue completely which caused everyone to disband.

Getting hit by Archeron's AoEs in CT because my PS3's hard drive can't keep up with loading the god damn AoE hitbox animations in time every other run.

I don't know whether to blame the hard drive (slapping in a hybrid SSD would probably fix it), or the programmers for not having this shit loaded into memory with the enemy model? Game is always too busy dealing with alliance parties' player models and their filtered animation effects (which it seems to still load regardless when you set stuff to limited/off, just doesn't display it)

Yes dude, upgrade your HD. I used to have the same problem getting hit by plumes I swore I dodged and looking like a dumbass. Upgraded the other night. Damn near 100% dodge rate because the graphics loaded when they were supposed to.

I upgraded the ps3's hdd to an ssd and my gf is having pretty good runs of anything, dodging shit easily. Yea, i'm going to be upgrading my brd little by little, my brd is i70, nq relic, i'm pretty sure i'll have a much easier time clearing titan ex w/ that over my mnk.

You don't need accuracy for EX Primals or Crystal Tower.

We had those drop to the floor last week. Meanwhile this week I got my second coil drop for brd ever, and the first one that I'll be using. (lol bracelets first, then neck)

I've only ever tanked Chirada + Garuda, and only their very first Slipstream of the fight is synchronised. The rest are always staggered and between anticipating Wicked Wheel/Downburst, trying to position them both so that DPS don't get wrecked by tornadoes or Wicked Wheel, and having to track down the Spiny Plume, the subtle visual cue of Slipstream is sometimes lost on me. Garuda doesn't take damage while both sisters are up so I just stay on Chirada the whole time.

I always focus target Garuda, then keep my main target on Suparna to deal as much damage as I can to her. For the first half or the post-LB add phase, it's pretty easy since she's out on the field before the adds. The only part that ever really fucks me up is after they teleport swap and do feather rain, because that breaks focus and they're both on the field at the same time. I'm usually focused on getting some buffs up for the incoming wicked wheel and finding and provoking the spiny that I can forget to re-focus so I can see slipstreams.

Crystal Tower just completely crashed for my alliance. We were all 90k'd on the first fight and then kicked out of the instance. Someone said this is the 10th time it has happened to them this week. Just, lol.
