Gear progression in this game continues to annoy me more with each week. After I do Coil and CT, there's literally no way to improve my character beyond swapping i70s for i70s. It's not even worth thinking about anything past a second job and even that is pushing it unless there's shared gear. Already feels like I'm back to 1 day for everything. Extremes are a slight elevation to that log in period, but that doesn't feel like it's going to last until 2.2.

Pretty much why I'm letting my sub lapse in a few days. I want more than DL or some craftables to aspire to and the prospect of needing like 2 months to get a secondary+ job to a similar level of competency to my main just kills all motivation.

Plus I'm just worn out on supporting dungeon-centric MMOs. By default it means crafting gets the shaft. Questing or other open-world options are usually non-existent, too.

Join an Ifrit extreme PF group that is at 4 people and then stand around waiting for 25 minutes waiting for it to fill up. Once it fills up the party leader boots me and replaces me with someone from his FC. I was in the DF for 40 minutes before this trying to get a group when there were no PF groups. Finding groups and getting competent groups is proving much harder then the extreme fights in general.

Yes dude, upgrade your HD. I used to have the same problem getting hit by plumes I swore I dodged and looking like a dumbass. Upgraded the other night. Damn near 100% dodge rate because the graphics loaded when they were supposed to.

I'll have to check my options since boxing week sales are over now. I really should just get off my lazy ass and replace my broken PC and play on that instead.

That said, I would kinda miss the game getting severely behind on loading everything since it makes for some odd screenshots.

This is also one thing I've been whining about in LS. Why the god damn fuck is there a weekly gear lock on two entirely different tiers of gear? At least with i90s you get both myths, and play the Coil Chest Roulette.

I know the developer excuse would be artificially prolonging the event's appeal (can't burn all your gear in a day and never do it again), and because they can't pump out content fast enough, but that's not my problem. Also impossible to find Garuda farms for i90 accessories (or reliable Ultima HM groups for i80 filler) with people who know how to do the bloody fight.

On a lighter note, courtesy of my ISP fixing my flaky connection (for the most part), I no longer need to run ahead of plumes appearing to dodge them. A shame I can't find others who can do the same on Titan Ex still that don't mind having a SCH who hasn't completed the fight before.

This has been the story of my week really. Fail T1 PUG (couldn't beat snake), fail T2 PUG (inexperienced JP group). Fail Garuda EX group (didn't even get to tornado phase). Need to get myself a new coil static pretty soon or this kind of crap is going to wear me out. A whole lot of experienced players on our server haven't renewed subs, and their absence is very noticeable.

After going through this earlier i joined a new PF group that was at 2 people. I joined as the third dps job and we had to wait for about 35 minutes to fill which i think was because the leader had the ilvl set to 85. The leader invites a FC friend when we were at 7 people and the group then realizes that we have 5 dps and only 1 tank. Much argueing ensues and they for some reason my name is brought up to be kicked. I state that i was third to join and it wasn't my fault the party configuration got screwed so i am not leaving. The last person who joined is some asshole who has been starting PF groups the past few days i could never join because he always sets the jobs so only one bard can be in the party. I assume he does this because his job is bard and he's trying to lock the bard drops. The asshole then tells me that i should join the other Ifrit PF group to solve the problem which i notice would leave this party with him as the only bard. Several people ask him since he joined last why doesn't he join it and he tells us that the leader off the other group will boot him because of something that happened previously. I look at the other group and it has 2 bards in it already so i figure that also had an impact on his decision. More squabbling and bickering about who should go for a few minutes and then people just start disbanding till it's the leader, asshole and me left. Needless to say i left shortly after.

Meh that's not really assholeish, that's smart. You take the time to set up the PF group, you choose the composition. Why wouldn't you take the opportunity to maxmise your chances at drops? It's not like the group is losing DPS when you prefer a BLM/SMN over a bard. If I'm going to set up a run where I'm interested in a drop, you can be damn sure I'm going to set it up to my liking. This means 1 Bard usually.

But yeah, the rest of the behavior was totally dickish. Had a similar situation last night where the leader had neglected to set the slots correctly, but it got sorted out without a fuss.

Yeah, I don't think setting the job limitations is that asshole~ish. That said, I helped people run CT today to secure they're drops (if they dropped at all; one did), so maybe I'm not the best to comment on it? I dunno, but that doesn't bother me as much as most of the other shit I see.

Other than myth purchases, ultima, and extreme avatars. You can get your entire right column (barring PLD shield) to 80/90 without incurring weekly lockouts.

If you have people that you can run Ultima/Extremes regularly then good for you, I don't. CT is much easier than Ultima/Extremes and I can barely tolerate the way people treat each other there, let alone in something more difficult. Mytho also only goes so far when you're talking about 11 slots over 3 separate roles.

Ultima should really be on farm status in DF/PF now, it certainly is on Tonberry.

Garuda though, yeah, still having to wade through terrible groups.

I've only checked party finder a few times and the iLevels were near 80 for the Ultimas I've seen, but I haven't checked it much. Granted like I said though, I don't do much with randoms outside of CT because I can't tolerate how vile people treat each other in DF.

PF -in theory- should be slightly more civil seeing as everyone is from the same server.

Haven't actually had any issues off the top of my head, you still get bad parties though. Apparently this week was my turn for nub coil groups.
