By the time expansion one hits, all the current gear will be shit and a ladder will be erected to quickly get you up to speed. Welfare Allegan or w/e.

They'll almost certainly remove the weekly lockout on T1-5 and give it the Echo buff, so collecting Allagan for a new guy will take like a day.

Does level 50 class quest count? Since I think those do. IIRC, most anything that was solo duty could be echo buffed.

this is more a question about coil progress.

I was sick yesterday and my group cleared turn 1 without me.

If i join them can I skip turn 1 and hit up turn 2, or is clearing turn 1 mandatory for me? If it is fuck that i'm not doing a shout group they can just suffer lol

I switched to the Japanese voice overs and it sounds way better. They may be complete shit for all I know as I don't speak any Japanese, but anything is better than the English voice overs. I'm pretty sure they got random people from the NA offices to record most of it. Bob from accounting played Raubahn.

You can join them but I would recommend doing T1 with another group before then, otherwise you're locked out of T1 for the week.

For what it's worth, a lot of the JP voice actors are fairly well known in their field (like they have fairly considerable histories ranging from anime to Hollywood movie voice overs). There's also a big professional difference between the industries for English VAs and Japanese ones.

That said they are all super hammy in this game because of Japanese RPG storyline, etc. I guess in Gaius' case that's how it's supposed to be though!

FFXII had top tier VAs and script, they just didn't care enough to put in the effort with XIV.

Unrelated:

They need to make filters for flying text, I want to see damage taken by PCs, healing, and buffs/enfeebs, that's it. I don't need to see what the damage of everyone's auto-attacks are (or their WSs/spells for that matter).

SE seems to have a rich tradition of fucking up the voices somehow. XII was good except they recorded the game inside a tin can. XIII had some top-tier talent, but the voice direction was shitty. XIV they just gave up on it altogether.

I know some people have mixed feelings about the oft-seen dub crews in the US (Yuri Lowenthal/Troy Baker/Dan Green/JYB etc), but I personally like them and I think they would've done a better job than the people they actually got.

I just miss Maddie Blaustein. She had some crazy range in her voice.

Another week, another no aiming feet. Said fuck it and bought my myth feet. I'll just use those until they hopefully eventually drop. Third ever aiming piece dropped this week, bracelets in turn 1, making the aiming pieces I've seen: Bracelets, Neck, Bracelets. I guess I should be grateful that the neck even dropped at all last week.
