There's no excuse if you're a dd. You should be in position before you switch targets because if you're not in position and you got rocked then wtf mate. What I find happens more often than not is it's the not-rocked healer who gets hit off, because their character is visibly farther away than everyone else. All you have to do is turn your camera sideways or eagle eye to confirm your position. Targeting reticule makes everything easy mode if you need the handicap.

Of all the ways to die in Titan Ex, these two ways are the ones that annoy me the most. Superbombs death just infuriated me inside. At least die to plumes or tricky super sneaky landslides.

Turn1 ADS is god awful with pugs. One of the BRDs I had a while ago couldn't comprehend the HV order. I did not know how to break it down any easier than telling him it's after laser every. single. time. Took maybe 7 tries to beat it then we oneshotted Cadueceus(sp) lol. I just don't get people.

You will never see a PUG MNK or DRG not get tail swiped, hood swiped, or die on Caduceus. It never fails me.

It amazes me that people manage to die to tail swipe considering you have to manually trigger it yourself by going behind the boss. On BRD I intentionally bounce back and forth between snakes to set it off to give the tanks a bit of a break and it's pretty much harder to get hit by it than to avoid it.

Not enough people do Greed-only farming groups.

So frustrating, it makes so much more sense to just have people come on their best job (or the job that's needed for the party) and pick a job to Greed as.

I wish SE would implement an option for a party to be flagged as Greed-only on formation and just disable the ability to Need on items. People could still be douches and Greed on items they shouldn't but it would at least encourage people to do Greed parties more.

It wouldn't really be feasible to do this for DF groups but for PF/manually formed parties where people can actually get a bad rap on their server I think it'd be pretty useful.

(I've only ever come across one instance of someone Needing an item that they were supposed to Greed on along with someone else, after kicking the guy we luckily got the drop again for the the guy that got screwed)

When I fill in for pre-made groups as DRG they always seem so surprised that I'm dodging things on Cad. It's really not that hard @_@

It's the same as like doin Chim. He's a fucking joke to dodge. and just like someone said, you have to proc tail swipe so there is just no reason to get hit

The only mildly confusing thing about tail swipe is that it's every so slightly wider than just the "rear" target ring section. I proc it on SCH just because.

Actually there's a complaint: my fairy takes negligible damage from swipe, yet can't trigger it.

You just need to be selective in your PF choices; I'll just do other things until I see a T1-4 PF comment with additional color that makes me feel confident in the group other than "BE EXP'D!". I've had to PUG coil for the past ~five weeks and I've done pretty well. Some terribad groups occasionally, but generally knock T1-4 out in an hour.

To contribute: Dickhead FC leaders. Left my FC cuz the leader is a fuckhead of a douche but wanted to keep the social LS part of it as I'm cool with everyone and he let me. Helping friend with relic yesterday in Ifrit and I start mistyping all kinda shit cuz I didn't notice my /l3 was apparently an invalid command so when we finish I get out and check why and see that I no longer have that LS. I text him "Really? Act your fucking age." and get bombared with like 10 paragraphs of text about my leave was orchestrated and he kicked me because I'm a traitor and don't deserve his social LS.

Been a while since I had some good LS dramaz.

To be fair, my aforementioned static that I missed does this, because most their main jobs are at or very near i90. The one random guy they got to fill my slot for 1-4 took 3 of the 6 items this week because he just greed lotted on everything, 2 of them were Striking gear when he doesn't even have a melee job at 50.

Random people are just too shitty and selfish to trust to be coordinated like that.

Why would you let him stay after he Greeded something he wasn't supposed to the first time....

Also I wouldn't do this in BC, mostly because of the value of the drops and because I can't imagine doing it without a static, I was primarily referring to EX farming.

On the need/greed thing, is it standard for 'modern' MMOs to withhold lot/pass status until after the item drops? I'm too used to XI's setup where you know who lotted what the second they do so. Way too easy to potentially ninja shit in XIV if you can need something.

I don't know the specifics, I wasn't there. Our usual rule, for ourselves and for any pickups, is that if you have a job that can use it at 50, you can lot it, otherwise pass. I assume they just didn't check his jobs until afterwards; I'm usually the one that organizes all this stuff for them.

The way I've always done it is you pick a job to lot as, not just lot anything you can use, that's a dumb way to do it for pretty obvious reasons.

ie. I go to Ultima HM on WAR but I choose Caster gear, I can only Greed on Caster gear and nothing else.

If you're in a premade party of people you know and have played with (most my XIV group is the same as my XI groups that I've played years with), I think it works out just fine. We know each other and what each person likes to play, as opposed to what they have that's most geared, so usually if someone really wants a piece, it ends up being passed for them without much fuss or even talking about it. Obviously it's got flaws when you try to introduce strangers into it, but I'd rather give away the odd piece of gear on the uncommon occasion of having a pickup than completely revamping the system for one stranger.

Plus, it was striking gear. Our only MNK is the guy who leveled every job, and I don't think he really cares about it that much.

Unless you're a MNK, in which case you weep for the loss of that neck.
