The game shouldn't let you need/greed on anything that your character can't equip. Problem with that is loot would drop to the floor if no one could equip it, but what about the guy with a level 49 that can equip it tomorrow? The whole system needs a rethink.

I'd prefer a system where you state which loot you want before you enter the instance and that is your one and only need job regardless of what you are on. But you can only select from the jobs you have that can equip that instance's loot. No doubt SE sees that as far too complex for the average player however.

what about people who just help out tho? I do titan HM for the lulz all the time on mrd DD. I need the whm item still(just to get the full set) Would you say I should not lot on that. Ya I have whm lvled but lets just for the hell of it say I do not. I go in for this one item, that is it.

Maybe I'm not as jaded since I didn't run CM/Prae a billion times for philo pre-2.1, but these people who are such hardasses about cutscenes in story dungeons are something else.

I mean yeah I like a faster run just like anybody. But it's a story dungeon yet this attitude is so prevalent. The best reason I've heard is that it's on roulette, therefore SE intended for you to force people to skip cutscenes. Just what?

The story roulette is another of S-E's many misplaced good intentions. "Let's make a pool of people to get the new people through these dungeons" but those people have 0 interesting in waiting for cutscenes or explaining shit.

Good new is that you have to give only 1k $ per ppl that have "lag" (most likely fps) issues on your server.
Are you aware that your computer does 99% of the work for you? The 1% remaining is used to remember your dps, tanking, healing rotations.

Wtf? My computer does not even cost $1k, my internet is not the fastest either. I really believe it takes a bit more than just the computer doing your work to dodge shit. Doing enough PF groups will really show you that most people just have slow reaction time and this is from witnessing the same people over and over again. I just don't get it man, I always dodge things I know that's about to appear, let alone stuff that randomly pops in my face.

My craptastic computer runs this game at like 20 FPS at the lowest settings (main reason is likely Radeon HD 4670), if you think that speed is "unplayable" you're probably just bad at the game.

And really, when is the last time you heard anyone complain about "lag" as in their computer couldn't run the game decently?

Doesn't low FPS in 14 make you move more slowly?

It doesn't, you just see it as a slide show and thus you will react slower to stuff because you're seeing less frames than someone else playing at 60.

I'm not sure about it making you run slower in an absolute sense, but between the frame lag of a big attack starting up (like titan weights) causing it to appear later and locking you from changing your movement during the slowdown, it can compound to make it essentially impossible to dodge unless you're preemptively moving.

There's a point where you have to ask yourself if it's really worth playing this game at 20fps. Latency issues are more of a cause to people dying I agree. But then if you KNOW you have this issue, why are you joining less forgiving instances such as Titan EX where one mis-dodge costs your entire group to fail. Just seems selfish to me.

I play with Kin regularly, and he plays on that aforementioned shitty 20fps computer from Taiwan. He still dodges more consistently than most the people I get in my Titan runs, and if he doesn't dodge, he owns up to it most of the time rather than complaining about "lag" like most people. The vast majority of deaths on Titan are from a sever case of the "git gud"s, lag is just the convenient excuse because no one can prove you weren't lagging.

But then again, he's the one whose slot we filled with that fuckhead who stole that gear 3 pages ago, so maybe I shouldn't be sticking up for him.

It's gotten to the point where I think SE overestimated the skill level of the game's general population. PUGs are absolutely incapable of clearing Titan EX on Ultros -- had five mages wipe on the first set of plumes last night in one run and three different groups failing to even get to heart phase. Using DF for anything outside of roulette/CT is an utter fucking waste of time.

I'm playing with 9-13 fps on titan HM or Ex. I can dodge pretty much everything on HM since I can move on my own without risking to mpk my party ex is another story.

Well the difference between ppl who lag and ppl who don't lag or play with 60+ fps is as following :
the guy who don't have any issue can react to the abilities, he doesn't need to know rotation he just has to react : "this is too easy".
the guy who has lag issues or fps difficulties has to anticipate, he must have a good memory and be prepared to be randomly target cause if he wasn't moving when the abilities are on him then it's already too late.

For certain fights you need to know which attack is coming up, Titan is a perfect example of this. Simply reacting will only lead to death most of the time, you need to know what's next and prepare for it (especially as a healer).

It depends though. With my vpn I don't have to remember shit and do just fine. Without the vpn, I have to memorize everything, premove, and will 1/10 still get hit.

Don't get me wrong, I am totally sure there are plenty of people who lie, but after being on both ends of the spectrum, I would rather give people the benefit of the doubt simply because I know just how fucking frustrating it can be.

Exactly.
Titan is the only boss in the game to give such difficulties when you have low fps.
One strange thing is that I have no issues doing Odin or Behemoth with 300 + ppl in the area (I can see the boss, see the AoEs and avoid them without anticipating), while titan always makes my pc drop frame. Isn't that because some instances aren't optimized?
