the reason i hate war at in coil is most do notunderstand acc is needed. I have run into a few who have 450 or less. tha will not fly in coil. i am in a group so mostly dont give a shit, we know our wars can doo the job jus as well, pick ups? fuck that.
thi mentality has moved with to the rest of the game i don trust them lol.
they are like monks kick ass, great job but most are fucking stupid.
In my last FC one of the PLDs jumped ship to WAR and would only do T1-4 with like 430 acc and wonder why he couldn't keep hate on anything. It annoys me too when I play my alt and I see WARs doin' stupid shit, not keeping maim up and by that, not keeping storms path and eye up or not keeping fracture up
Garuda EX with 2 tanks 1 healer 4 brd and me on BLM. Only one dude, and then another person popped Foe's during the whole fight for me. Could of been up 100% of the time but no.
[6:36](Waka Bo) More foe's Jay put his up frequently, it doesn't hurt your dps by 20% read the tool tip.
[6:37](Kuuko Yumi) Waka no one has to put up foe
I agree with your main point of good monks being meter gods, and with the general pro-melee sentiment. But out of curiosity are you actually out-parsing a good allagan summoner who has a battle voice foes req bard buddy? I can't think of a single fight where the summoner doesn't have the advantage just by their class design.
T1: 2x targets to DoT
T2: moot point, either magic or blunt resistance
T4: Easy SMN win (even easier BLM win, but I digress) by virtue of AOE encounter design and Bane going through magic shield
T5: Potential 4x super-DoTs in beginning, multi-dots on snakes, getting conflag'd and liquid hell'd is a much higher penalty for monks than summoners
Garuda Ex: Double dots, AOE, constant loss of GL3
Titan Ex: Again, getting gaol'd is a much higher penalty for monks than summoners
Ifrit Ex: Constant loss of GL3, multiple dot targets for summoners. No idea how you beat a summoner here.
The fights I have seen monks coming closest to summoners are T1 and Titan Ex.
10 mins before maint, and our DRG quits out of Copperhell hard on our way to the last boss.
BLM joins almost instantly after and we win with 1 min to spare.
Fuck people.
My random complaint is on T2. When ADS uses Ballast, you get a pacman safe spot behind ADS. Except it's not really safe because when the MT goes in there, sometimes it'll be time for ADS to use his stack-applying cleave and ADS will whip around and blast him (and you!) with it. There's sometimes time to dodge into the first ring of Ballast, sometimes not. Come on! The most consistent reaction is to just run away as soon as you see the .5 second cast of ballast, but the fact that there's a safe spot makes running away feel like I lost the game
The best is when the safe spot is along the wall and he uses Repelling Cannon or Piercing Laser towards you at the same time. DODGE THIS BITCHES!
Likewise. You can cheat the Ballast by moving as soon as the last pie pops up and be safe from the knock-back while sparing about one second before the Node turns to the tank. The worst is when he combos Ballast and Repelling Cannon... Of course this is moot if you are a ranged, lol.
Allagan SMN is the only class I have not parsed against.
I fully expect to lose T4 and Ifrit Extreme as they're the worst MNK fights in the game (I already know I lose turn 4 by default since our Allagan BLM destroys me super hard here). Titan is probably my best shot to beat SMN. I won't get Gaol'd based purely on the fact that if I'm doing my job, I'll always be #2 on the hate list which means I can't be jailed (Tank swaps put me at #3 briefly but tanks swap after Jails giving plenty of time for me to put myself back into the #2 spot)
Also, asking for a Bard Buddy to give you the free +20% damage all the time is a bit much also isn't it? I don't think there are many BRDs who will keep it up full time for you.
But in all honesty, this is the one thing I probably would lose to but I still think I'd give them a run for their money in terms of damage. Having multiple targets hinders me but in single target, I'm pretty sure I'll out damage them.
It's something to test for sure once I get my weapon.
Edit: To stay on topic and to get back to my original point
Why are most melee players so bad and crying for buffs when we already out DPS everything except MAYBE SMN?
My Allagan SMN is the only DPS we have the puts down our MNKs and our DRGs (on some fights). It comes to, as stated before many times, any fight with more than 1 target = we win. Even stuff like just dodging ballast and rep. cannons and shit on T2 allows me to win most of the time as well.
I don't have an answer for you, but this is what I meant about there not being much of a slider between mastery of encounters/mechanics and miserable piece of shit. Melee feels like you're either spot-on and doing great or you're not and parse below one-button-macro BRDs who don't have to be aware to what they're actually doing.
Tanking Titan and even with swaps I've never left #1 or #2 swap due to the vokes back and forth just upping my hate ontop of keeping WAR debuffs rolling so I'm not sure if you'd be safe, unless your OT just like doesn't do anything while they're waiting
and for your question: It's how people perceive the damage I guess. If you see 200-300s rolling it's like meh, but you see that 2k+ blm nuke people are like gotdayum. Like EXPing in 11, xp/hr > stupid hard mobs with big exp reward
I fucking love this line, I'm stealing it for my write up hahahaslider between mastery of encounters/mechanics and miserable piece of shit
430 acc is around 90-93% hit rate. He tanked turn 1-4(a person we don't normally take)
Turn 1 was ok, hate was not perfect at the start but it worked. Turn two is a joke so whatever. But turn 4 was a mess, he could not keep hate on anything. First time I have not cleared turn 4 in months. Acc for tanks is key.
