My Allagan SMN is the only DPS we have the puts down our MNKs and our DRGs (on some fights). It comes to, as stated before many times, any fight with more than 1 target = we win.

What happens when a class designed to use weak filler spells while waiting for their big DoTs to refresh instead gets to cast multiple rounds of DoTs? Oh, they win meters. And it's not like it's fair to ask the BRD to not cast foe's req either. At least casting SMN spells is boring as shit to watch versus MNK's kung-fu flippery or DRG's nuclear elbow drops from space.

Tbh that's one thing that's always turned me off of SMN, for all the damage I know it does, it's soooo dull.

Aside from a nice Fester every now and then there's no 2400 crit Fire 3 "fuck yea" moments.

The best is when the safe spot is along the wall and he uses Repelling Cannon or Piercing Laser towards you at the same time. DODGE THIS BITCHES!

Love how he he combines moves in bullshit ways sometimes. Our ADS likes to combine firestorm with repelling cannon; Melee range becomes quite the instant death zone if you fuck up, lol.

Fuck whoever came up with that retarded strat pugs use on Ifrit EX. It is literally pants on head retarded and one of the best ways I've seen to make something that can be done easily even without communication between the healers into a fucking nightmare. Even the few times I've had to deal with it rustle me.

Yep. I couldn't believe it the first time I saw it. Then the pug BRD sprinted and ran eruptions to my designated healer area.

Edit: But yeah, every single DF group I've ever been in to help a friend when not enough of my members were on to make a full PT uses this strat.

Now i'm curious? lol, if your dps don't run eruptions straight back, what do they do with them? I know two different methods people use for healers, either one on each side, or howl healer on west side, safe healer in middle with dps, and healers switch when howl falls off, but both methods still have dps run eruptions straight back to avoid healers :O

I've never seen Ifrit X done where the eruptions were not run down the middle, but I've never seen tanks nor healers just sit there, either. The healers would swap every so often to insure DPS could start rotating clockwise in the nail phases (although that's more because we have a pair of FC healers who we bring in, and it's far easier on everyone to have them move than to have up to 4 random DPS try to remember which healer has the herp at any given moment), and the tanks often did quite a bit of moving depending on who they got chained to.
