Holy shit what a bunch of crybabies. This game has made people go soft. Our first legitimately grindy quest in the game and people freak out. SE should have kept the welfare gear in because clearly that's what everybody actually preferred.

Don't like it? Don't do it. There are other weapon options available. It'll just make having a zodiac more prestigious for the people who actually manage to finish it, which is a good thing because having everybody in 2.1 run around in full BiS gear was boring.

I don't mind the RNG aspect of it, but the added tediousness of FATEs is what makes it fucking terrible. I mean was there really no goddamn other way to implement this?

I don't think it would be so bad if, after obtaining all the Atmas, there was, you know, actually an upgrade. Instead, we simply earn the privilege to start upgrading. Increase the DMG by one or something, at least.

RNG tedious, is very different from quantified tedious. 1500 (10k total) WS kills was tedious but everytime I did one there was one less to do. Based on the atma drop rates that are posted on various forums you could do 1000 FATEs and get nothing to show for it.

I did about 70 fates yesterday near Aleport, went 0/70 on the Western La Noscea atma. Fuck this shit.

I played XI. I played Lineage 1. There's a difference between grindy and absolutely tedious beyond belief. A shitty system that hardly anyone liked and all complained about (Fates) being the main catalyst in getting your relic weapon upgraded for as much as it is.. I mean sure, if you got your atma in 10+ hours, finishing it in one day I'm sure it wasn't bad for you but for people who've gone 4-6 hours without even seeing a single one, joining a party, watching nearly everyone in the party grab theirs and you're still there; it's like the fuck SE, lol

Ah well. Maybe I'm just bitter. I am bitter. This shit sucks dick. I'd rather grind for a week and 3% EXP on Lineage than this boring, mind-numbing fate grind.

My problem, and I assume most people's problems, is that it's not grinding, it's RNG. If the quest was "do 100 fates in each of these 12 zones", I would still bitch and moan a little because I hate fate grinding, but at least when you do 60 FATEs, it means you only have 40 left to do. You're constantly making progress, no matter how small. At the current 2% or whatever horseshit drop rate, you can do 60 FATEs and it doesn't matter, because the drop rate is STILL going to be 2%. You don't feel a sense of progress until you get a drop, everything else is just wasted time.

Right. Obviously I don't have to keep doing this as I can go do other stuff, but when I do fate grind for these items.. it's for no real progress. I mean.. GC seals I guess but I don't give a fuck.

Echo must feel like a godsent to people who only have DF to do stuff for clears. Just had about the most typical of titan hard mode group for a DF, and it took 6 tries (5 echoes) to finally clear. Damn gil was hard-earned I say.

Echo must feel like a godsent to people who only have DF to do stuff for clears. Just had about the most typical of titan hard mode group for a DF, and it took 6 tries (5 echoes) to finally clear. Damn gil was hard-earned I say.

Yeah basically what everyone else has said. Fuck these Atmas. I didn't mind doin Relic killshot trials in XI. It was lengthy and tedious but at least you could see progress even if it was slow.

RNG progress on something grindy is just absolute balls. Still not seen an Atma drop and whilst I haven't counted how many FATEs I've done, I know it's pretty substantial amount because I'm at 43k GC seals. I just can't take anymore tonight.
