Eh if they say they know what the issue is, then people will ask what the issue is, then they need to figure out how to tell people w/o going all techno-jumbo. Most likely they keep breaking shit as they fix other shit and still need to lock down the whole cause while just feeding us PR bullshit that we know is fake.

With all these connection issues though, on the bright side if you EVER do get in game, at least everything is bug free so far from what I have seen lol

Oh its incredibly smooth in-game, which is why I wonder why they don't sometimes just shut DF off and allow people to fate and craft. Its obvious that this won't be fixed for awhile. Better to let most everyone do SOMETHING than allow for a small amount to do everything.

Probably because the story quests are tied into DF. So if you're below lvl 10 and havn't done that class quest, you can't change classes which means your shit out of luck for trying other stuff.

Called into tech support this morning about my issue and was told by the guy that they don't have any tools there to resolve a 1016 error so they will escalate it up to another department that handles bugs and random errors and shit. Referred me to an in-game GM which I'm not even sure I contacted correctly because the system is rather convoluted when trying to make sure you are placing an actual GM call. Tech support said they couldn't place me in direct contact with a GM so that's neat. Fortunately I actually got logged in with an alternate character I managed to create the other day on Hyperion so the waiting game continues. It also looks like the guy closed my original ticket so hopefully that means he didn't just blow me off and there is some other internal ticket that has my info in it.

At this point it has been 42 hours since I have been able to log into my main character due to this 1016 error and my emoness is slowly turning into rage. I has a sad for reals.

It looks like the GM call I placed is showing up in the tickets also which means one of two things I think. 1) I didn't actually succeed in placing an actual GM call and I just created another ticket, or 2) GM calls are tracked as tickets as well. I sure hope it is #2.

The game is so crippled without it. Way too many things rely on it to really make that feasible.

One thing I wish they'd add though is auto-logging people that are AFK for an hour or so. I played for around five hours and the same guys are still AFK in the first camp I was at.

Yes. I was calling for this during P4. You should not be able to hold a spot on the server indefinitely if you're not going to play. In this environment it's denying other people access.

the funny thing is that none of these problems are because of the actual servers themselves. They work great and have 0 problems. It's that everything is tied to the duty finder.. every single group/solo instance, ect... Which basically means that this one function of the entire game is taking the load of every single NA/EU server at once. That's where Se's problem is. If they made a separate server for solo instances and then another for actual duty finder stuff then I doubt there would be this problem.

That's why they are limiting the servers. has nothing to do w/ server stability and everything to do with the duty finder stability. They are just blaming it on server stability because thats easier to for them to do. Which is why its so stupid. Put it this way.. you start the game in an instance... so if the instance server is broken (which it is) then you can't even start the game lol

I know it's shitty, but it's hard to blame people for not wanting to log out. No guarantee you get back in in a timely fashion. Which I know is circular logic because it's just fueling the problem.

seriously, why no queue. and if there is a queue, it should never say oh theres too many people in it, fuck you. fuckin only day off to play in 12 days and this shit. rage.

also just figured you can spam numpad 0 on the main screen and character select to spam their servers with ultimate efficiency. gonna make a ahk script called ragebot 1017 that spams 0 endlessly, though i think that would cancel the queue once you finally got into it.

Just be the problem and slam the server trying to log in. It worked for me yesterday.

Kick AFK after an hour and a working queue and I think most people would be happy.

This would be the easiest best solution. I'm cool with waiting as long as I get in eventually. What's not cool is spamming 0 through three episodes of breaking bad and not getting in cause I wasn't lucky enough to hit it at the right time.

A thought: the only caveat to this is that now there are 5,000 (didn't SE say this was the max a server can hold at one time) of active players instead of a mix of active/AFK... Which could agitate server status further.

I still think they should give more people access but, no way to win, I guess?
