FFXIV Random Complaint Thread: Look forward to it

Trying to get a party for Stone Vigil and Lost City Of Amdapor for book is like fucking pulling teeth.

Been queuing for 3 hours now.

DF put me in Stone Vigil 4 times. All 4 times at least 1 person has DC'ed or exited instantly at entry leading to others leaving.

Entered Amdapor 3 times. 2 times people exited on entry. Third time was a 2/3 with only Diabolos left to kill and 27 mins on the clock but 2/4 (DD + Tank). Nobody entered in all that time to fill the party.

EDIT: I guess bitch and get half the problem fixed. Instantly got another 2/3 Amdapor at Diabolos which we cleared first try.

Finally get my ps3 controller working again (no idea why it stopped working) so I could gather while watching some anime-- and it's time for a 3 hour maint. Damn it.

Group gets to first LB just fine. Rails break and the MT falls off on the first slam after that.

His movement was a little suspect before hand so one person asked "Hey [maintank], do you know the fight?"

MT: "This is my first time"

It's always great when people try to sneak into farm parties and get carried without really knowing the fight.

after practicing with learning parties, once i feel comfortable with the fight i usually join a farm party to get my first clear.

This is a hell of a lot better than "Farm party? I've watched half a video guide. LET'S DO THIS!"

Funny thing is we cleared it anyway with that new MT...and then there were TWO achievement unlocks for first timers.

The problem is there are either learning parties or farm parties. Hard to get a clear in learning parties because most people aren't experienced or suck. So it's difficult to get the clear without joining a farm party and hoping you've made it far enough in a learning party to get experience with all mechanics

A few months back the OF revolted when they found some FC requiring MMO resumes and reference checks to let them in because they wanted to make sure that everyone that joins is at least decent.

The funny part about these complaints is that I haven't joined a PF in recent history where the leader hasn't failed a mechanic, once or twice.

I don't know whether this belief is optimistic or pessimistic, but I honestly just think most people aren't trying to sneak into farm parties, they just don't fucking read before joining party finder groups.

8 months after launch and legacy servers are still unavailable for character creation. Do they ever become available? It's not something I check much.

most of the non-50 mage gear is all jobs, so based on the description, I'd say a Woolen Bliaud or if it was definitely a knee-length robe, maybe a Woolen Robe

...or various other mage gear if they dyed it white.

You know, if you hover over the icon of a glamoured piece of gear, it'll flip back and forth between displaying the name of the gear and what's been glamoured, if you encounter this in the future.

Try again in a day or so. All servers were open for creation last time I checked (shortly before 2.2), so it's likely the resub new-content rush that re-closed them.

It changes based on time of day. Try in the morning when everyone's off at work in the US or something.

Aren't all US players at work now/just finishing? But yeah I'll keep trying. It's annoying that you have to go through the character creation process to find out if the world is selectable, unless I'm missing something.

Character creation menu is the only way to know 100% whether or not you can get in, but the "Regarding Character Creation Restrictions" lodestone page updates every few hours that you can check.

Yeah, they are. I'd say try like... 6 hours ago. Whenever I made a character then, it usually went through, at least for Hyperion.
