Digital River is a nightmare, I'm doing my best to never order from them again unless I'm given no choice. Don't need another Ni No Kuni CE headache.
Unrelated to all the other much more important and omnipresent server issues, but something else occurred to me.
Sprint really shouldn't drain your TP.
Mages don't use TP therefore they not only have 1000 TP virtually all the time (ensuring a full duration sprint) but they don't need to worry about not having that TP when they get to where they're going. Melees are useless without TP while at the same time having to be much more concerned with distance and positioning.
A mage can pop Sprint mid-combat to get out of terrain damage or get in range of an add that popped far off (etc), and they don't even need to close with the target to do their thing. A melee has to hoof it normal speed and either waste TP on their token ranged attack (expensive TP wise and and inefficient damage) or try and engage it with normal melee attacks, the latter of which is complicated by mobs always being a bit further away from you than they appear (ie. you're visibly within melee range of the mob you're chasing but none of your attacks will fire).
Also I feel like a moron every time I hit sprint after HPing only for it to wear half a second later because I always forget your TP is 0 when you raise up.
As someone who is going to play primarily DDs, I don't see a problem with not putting limitations on the mobility of my healers. If my healer fell behind or needs to run from one area to another because the other Whm pinged out while I was holding a second mob out of AoE range, I want him to be able to. Blms I could see a case for limiting their ability to run around kiting and nuking everything, but we're not competing over HNMs with some jerkass taru trying to solo, so I'm just going to shrug to that.
Internet flakes out during a fight for like 2 minutes, so now I'm stuck in club 1017 again ^_____^
I'd like to take a moment to profess my profound hatred for those times where 1017 takes a second or two to pop up, and you get an actual loading screen and think you're in.
someone in game told me if you're getting 1017, make a character on a low pop server, then log out and try to log in on your normal character/server, and the queue should work. seemed to work for me, but only tried once so could just be coincidence.
Logged in 4 hours ago and got put at #10 in the queue. Got into the game in a minute or so, did stuff, returned, zoned, instances, all that jazz w/o problem. Logged off (I knew I should have just idled) and now 1017...
Tried the hopping on another server (Goblin) but got 1017 there too. Logged into JPUltima just fine. Back to 1017 on Hyperion. Don't think the lowpop thing works.
I wonder if 1017 is just what you get when the queue is full and they have the queue set really low now so that system doesn't have eleventy billion people to keep track of. So your only recourse is to spam until you get in the queue and hope it doesn't drop you before you get in.
I've been logging on and off goblin all day without even waiting in Q. Classes started today so I've logged on every 2-3 hours since 8 am CST.
It's passed 5est now, so that means it will be impossible to get on until early AM tomorrow.
Looks like I fucked up pretty badly by logging off to go get some lunch.
Edit : spam login button-mash ftw
I believe you're correct, and the limit seems to be around 300. It's also fucking up the actual queues though, people have complained a lot about getting queue then getting errors and shit, and when I finally got on this morning it put me in the queue and said ~270, then let me in game like 10 seconds later. The first time I got on period it was a queue of about 50 and took 2-3 minutes.
now I'm in, sitting outside of the archer class quest instance waiting for a duty finder I had already queued...
20 fucking minutes (so far) in queue for the level 15 tutorial dungeon thingy as archer
just got in, 23 minute queue
My ISP or modem or whatever is being a complete dick right now so I get to experience 1017 every 20 minutes ^_^
I was #9 in queue a few minutes ago, and then it gave me an error. Now it's non-stop 1017.This also happened to me like 7+ times yesterday. I've never been in queue and had it actually work.
Is there a way to erase chat with one button press?
In XI you could pund esc and it would erase text you have entered, but in XIV it just changes focus.
I had no problems at all today so it's clearly just a case of them fucking up on capacity. That isn't a quick fix though. Peak times will be a nightmare for a while I reckon. Out getting pissed now so I don't have to put up with the peak time BS. Not a cure for every night though.![]()
I wish this was skyrim so I could just shoot silvairre in the face.
Was there a maintenance today or anything from 8 AM ET until now? I opted to leave my guy in the game when I left for work this morning (yes I am a dick) and I'm just wondering if there's a reasonable chance I'll still be in game when I get home. Otherwise I'm just going to stay at the office and work late.
Better yet, is there a way to know if your character is logged in game? I'm on the new lodestone right now and I can't find it for the life of me when looking at my profile.
Has anyone else been experiencing crashes and memory problems? I don't mind waiting 10 minutes spamming to get on, but its annoying when the game keeps randomly crashing on me then I gotta wait in 1017 limbo.
