either xx item reserved or they create the PF as N>G and make sure no other job that they want gear for can join. It's annoying as fuck, especially when there's like 4 up for the same thing and everyone of them need healers

that is probably the absolute worst i've seen if he was going to lot pld too![]()
I had a WHM /tell me earlier asking if I could lock the WHM drop in Moogle extreme to him, in a need > greed party I was making. I asked him if he'd be happy to solo heal since no other healer would join that. I think it's rude to ask someone that. I didn't even lock the caster drop to myself and allowed a party slot that another caster could join.
That fight frustrates the hell out of me. Every group I join or make feels like a learning party, despite "must be experienced" being in the comment. As a result you get WHMs who can't esuna, DPS missing stuns and tanks not swapping. Then there's the other groups in PF that I can't join because they're demanding you have a necklace equipped and you're farming for your second/tenth whatever job. Tempted to just not bother and buy the i100 necklace from the Soldiery tomes. But it just feels like a waste.
I've fallen so far behind with 2.2 due to fucking around with my last fail FC that I'm tempted to just write off 2.2 and 2.3. Any Coil static that would take me now would be just learning T6 because I've barely had the chance to do it, and I've got to question the ability of any group that is still struggling with T6. Not something I want to be part of longterm for sure. Though they could just have had the same bad luck as me.
I know you were on Excal before, is there not groups forming up like crazy like we have here? A lot of them are legit and just need reps for people quitting for boredom or rl reasons. As easy as it is to replace a DPS since there's millions, we've had to do it a couple times since patch release.
Someone who priced their slightly less-than-optimal melded HQ saurian gloves the same price as mine. It sold before mines D:
Mines: det+15 ss+9 crit+6
his: det+14 ss+9 crit +6
Guess some people can't math.
There is, it's a much better server for my play time. My complaint is more a worry that I've fallen too far behind to get into any good FC now. The ones I'd be interested in are now on/clearing T9 while I'm still looking to see phase 3 of T6. Not gonna happen haha. I guess the best path is to be semi-casual until 2.4 and be ready for that content when it's fresh for everyone. Need to lower my immediate expectations.
I need a full goddamn raid to do Four Winds. Tried with a group of 4 plus birds, not even close.
Lot of factors.
What jobs you have, how much people suck, and most importantly, how many people did the FATE the last time it spawned.
I duo'd it with a whm as smn :/
What Niiro said.
Thankfully my server is awesome and I pulled together a full raid + extras, and we crushed it.
I stopped caring really. Between working on my Animus and ... mainly just working on Animus. I'm not finding that I get a huge amount of time to tackle coil in any given week. FC fell apart ages ago but I'm not leaving because there's only like, four of us, and we have the house and everything to ourselves. Plus i'm making some nice coin out of gardening. Something that I'd lose going to a fresh FC. I do think that the notion of "raiding FC's" is kind of misplaced. Much better suited to an LS IMHO.
Anyway I digress, I don't need the higher tier gear so whatever really. Although, I did spend a good chunk of time fishing and running PvP last weekend in some idle time. Arguably that would have been better spent on learning T6 or moogle (which I haven't touched yet due to reasons you mentioned).
Actually joined a complete nub run for T6 last night and had a fair bit of fun. We didn't even get out of P1 because we were basically all greenhorns having a laugh and getting our heads around the mechanics, but it was encouraging to see an actual practice group formed, so I went with them. Progress was made, good times. I'll probably give it a proper crack on the weekend, should be perfectly possible to get it on farm with PUG's I feel.
I get the whole feeling behind thing though, a lot of statics seeking members now are looking for people who are at T7 as a minimum. Quite happy to do it in my own time though. Statics have their own issues and I'm not quite over being burnt by the last one.
Tired of the destroyer of everything statics and friendship: Coil.
I've never gone through so many people I pegged to be loyal and worthy of trust and friendship, only for this game/the fights/the content to make them rage their way out of the company, and out of their minds honestly.
It's never good enough lol. We were on T8 and we'd gotten maybe 4 attempts in due to RL things coming up, guy just didn't understand that and rage quit for another server/FC that is doing T9. In those 4 attempts we got it to 35% only to find we could've made it much easier, and had planned to finish up this week, but couldn't even make it that far because of impatient fools with greener grass syndrome.
People are cancerous as hell on this game. Starting to just have the "who is gonna be next" mentality with my company.
Little advice: Just because you watch streams, see other people succeed, and associate with them, doesn't automatically make you better than the people you're currently with. I keep running into people that do this and have such a mentality, and they only end up fucked themselves in the end. Left wanting more, all the while betraying everyone they used to be cool with. It's a sad fucking sight.
The grass really isn't always greener. A little focus on yourself and what you have now is a good thing, a good thing that so very little people actually bother to do.
An old RL friend of mine and his wife, who I helped progress from Sastasha to T5, stormed out of my server over loot. His wife took Allagan Boots of Casting when she already had the BLM myth boots (same exact stats), because dress-up doll. I called her out, but just asked her not to do it again; she instead decided to make a scene and server transfer. While they had been levelling, I literally went back and tanked every single dungeon for them, including duoing the AK wall with my healer back when that was tough (they were both usually in the ditch), carrying their corpses through HM primals for the relic, and led them to Twin's doorstep. Wasn't enough for her, I guess.
My old static split apart due to jealousy. I had half of a RL circle of friends in mine, and we beat T5 before the other half, who never got over it. It was even the 11th hour (weekend before 2.2)...not as if we were pushing world/server firsts. That also nixed a budding relationship (lol internet relationships). Also, the FC leader was part of the other group, and eventually kicked a couple of us, including me, for "causing tension", i.e. progressing further than him. His FC is slowly decaying now, as he booted the most helpful members of the guild.
The sad part is, that guild was pretty much all old XI'ers. Figured it's been 10 years or so, and we've all grown up now. Wrong.
I'm bummed I feel in such a tight spot and want to excuse myself from a static, but I won't clear unless I get it down. Unfortunately hear how said group has been working on t7 for 2 weeks before clearing, and I'm on day 2 with the hardest job. I feel terrible holding others back but won't get progression for myself unless I keep trying and hoping other people keep through it. Obviously there is stress/rage and it gets to me, but after doing runs I just have to remember, just a game, we all want the best of the best etc.
It's rough when you have loud mouthed companies feeding your members their success and how much quicker they are at progression, when you're limited in how often you can even do anything because of said members' time constrictions.
It just makes for a lot of jealousy, a lot of hate, envy, and it ends up leaving you in a bad spot. My company's been relatively weak since we took stand against douchebaggery and cut roughly 30 members right before 2.1. It's only getting worse. I feel like people take advantage of that since we were very strong in the beginning run of 2.0 and slowly tapered off molding ourselves into what we want to be. They've this image that we're hardcore endgame douchebags when we've long since left that behind with the people we left. Now they poke and prod at every opportunity just to pick off what's left. This was a case of that. I've lost my healer over him being corrupted by other guilds and honestly his own fucking greed that stemmed out of it.
So hard to find good, mature, like-minded people that can think for themselves. I'm not sure what to do. I keep on going with my guild because I know it's right, but at what point do you draw the line and call it a day? So many people man. So many. I've thought many a time these people are trustworthy, they'll stick around and it'll be great.
Bitten in the ass for that mindset at every go.
Heh, I guess I'll throw my 4th post here to echo the sentiment on this page: my coil static has been decaying for the past 3 months due to people leaving constantly over petty matters, jealousy and FC drama that I'm not even a part of (loot or lack thereof, doing CT before them when it came out (lol), people being jealous dicks to each other, ex static leader willing to throw everyone under the bus at the first occasion) as well as RL making things difficult to schedule.
We're now basically running with 5 people (2 RL friends + the 3 people from my static who have proven reliable and drama-free) but the interest in raiding is waning and we've barely had time to touch T6 and Moogle with all that crap.
Guess I'll be back to raiding with 2.4~
