That is one good thing, but I'm afraid T7 might break a static that has stood since November.

We had alot of bickering and pointless arguments while attempting t7 first win, lol. This happens every new tough content where you needs everyone to learn, people gets emotional learning stuff because some learns slower than the others. As long as everyone understands this will keeps happening every new coil patch, people will just need sometime to cool off and back to practice.

My group isn't the quickest to learn but i'd rather stick with it knowing we'll eventually be able to do clear it t6-t9 in 1 shot, even though joining PUG PFs are very tempting just to get that win fast, but the headache and uncertainty of PUGing every week isn't worth it if i were to quit my current static just because we're not able to beat t9 fast enough.

Not saying all are bad...but most. I just soloed Gil Turtle on SCH, while the other three mouthbreathers beat on it with their shitty dps, I tanked, killed the Fire Sprite on my own, then cured myself to regain threat and walked it over to the smoke bomb.

Regarding CT2, it will be interesting to see how drops will fit in the current gear hierarchy. i95 to fit between myth and sol like CT1 did (meh) or 100, maybe 105 which could make the event interesting to help with sol/coil gating?

i95 would be a kick in the pants really, by the time CT2 comes around I'll barely need anything from it. That's kind of what happened in CT1 I guess, but optimistically, my money is on i100 for the core armor sets.

There'll be other shit too, pretty high on the list of expectations:
- Sphere's for Novus
- Sand/Oils

Like I said though, I just want content that brings people together and has some long term value. Not something where I'm done farming anything useful in 3 weeks. Not something that has no value to Coil2 veterans.

Literally the first time I've set foot in CT in months was the other night to break up the myth grind. As it turns out it's awesome for spirit-bonding, good for myth, and kind of fun to go back and re-visit, but there should be more to it than that. Granted CT was released out of order, and in a large part that's why it's less useful than coil1, but they didn't seem to take steps to make it particularly relevent. I remember Yohips answer being "vanity" when he was quizzed about what raiders would get out of CT1. That's not going to be good enough this time around.

The problem I think people (like RS) are referencing here is that sure, it would be great if people used the parsing tool as a way to legitimately (blunt feedback or not) call out bad players and help them not be dead weight. I think what a lot of people fear is that the "elitist" players will simply use it as a dick-waving measure to put down other players and an excuse to kick them.

Well, if it's a matter of gear, it's not really like someone could just say, "Oh, I had that stuff sitting in my inventory. One sec!" and suddenly become a better player. They're just gonna have to grind dungeons after the fact for tokens or hope for some RNG if it's such a drop. Rotations become a trickier beast, as not everyone lays out their macros the same way or even has the same hardware to allow certain methods of input. Hell, I hate WASD+Mouse in MMOs for this very reason, as forcing keys past 5 becomes a pain in the ass for navigation, ctrl/alt/shift variants or not. The few games out there that "get this" and have combo shortcuts or a more intuitive macro system can be a godsend in this regard. But yeah, rotations need time to become a muscle memory thing, and trying to pick that up while also trying to pick up boss mechanics is just asking for trouble. Good luck ever seeing someone take the time to explain a rotation within a duty, though. Bitches just sling Google without care for what results may or may not pop up. And if I'm being dreadfully honest, most guides I do see when fishing for info on my own are terrible. Too often the authors write them under the assumption everyone thinks and learns as they do. Sure, some may pick things up, but others may just wind up intimidated or confused.

That's even putting aside the fact that a lot of the initial guides that popped up for ARR were written by people without a god damned CLUE what they were talking about. Less prominent now, but I'd be afraid to Google "BLM rotation ARR" and use the first plucked results.

Know I wasn't doing superb (was parsing lower than I did when I did it with some LS friends), but yeah.

When I wanted to get gud on BLM to do all that glorious myth farming, I just went to the advanced section. Whenever anyone has a problem with their role I usually link them to here because even though I have the experience with BG in the past to know that what is figured out here is probably the closest to correct the playerbase can be at the time, if someone wasn't so sure about what makes BG's info sound, you beautiful blunt bastards usually have data to back up your statements.

Friend of a friend is a Legacy player fresh to the game. It's getting frustrating telling him after like 3 weeks that he shouldn't bother gearing his 50 jobs yet (read: buying absurdly expensive gear that he doesn't have anything to use for yet) until he's cleared the story because there's virtually nothing for him to do until he does. Guy doesn't even have a grand company yet. And I feel like a dick "telling him how to have fun".

I don't even know how he has the gil to consider all of these purchases.

In built parse would also help some players look good during fails. Like I just had a Leviathan where from what I can gather we failed the second DPS check (or someone wasn't hitting the converter). I know for a fact my damage was fine but you get tarred with the 'bad dps' brush because the check was failed and most people won't parse to check where the damage loss was occurring.

The drg job can be such a bad-magnet. Just had roulette titan hard with 3 drgs and they did absolutely HORRIBLE damage. These are guys who have 4.8-5k HP base and they are all losing to a brd with similar gear by a great margin in dps. Not to mention they can barely dodge bombs/plumes.

Best part was we couldn't finish the heart phase when brd got gaoled on first attempt, and titan earthen fury'd at 1%. All my wat!

Of course the guy who ridicules the entire group (shodori) dies once before heart phase, once during heart phase, and three times post heart phase on the winning attempt.

I got a LC for my expert DR, and first thing 2 people say is, "I hate this one, im bad at doors." Its just shape matching how hard can it be? We wiped 3 times because whoever volunteered doing doors marked them wrong, so I just ended up doing doors myself as the tank.

I have just been logging in recently to do my DR expert and trial, if i do those once a day i cap soldi by monday before reset, and my map. I can't bring myself to farm levi with these awful groups at the slight chance of getting a mirror, and i dont have a reliable coil static.

I feel like some people choose purposely not to use the small amount of brain power it takes to figure out something that you can even remotely equate to "puzzle" when you throw them into an MMO. I learned this the hard way after raiding in SWTOR -_-

Maybe I have shit luck, or not doing it right, but 0/800 on a Titanic Sawfish currently for that big fishing quest. Using lugworms at Cape Westwind, all times of the day.

Thank god I have two more seasons of Fresh Prince to go through.
