Right but out of the dozen or so friends I started this game with only one logs on each night, a couple have given their accounts away and the rest just use FB to chat. All 10+ stopped playing because of Coil. I'm sure my group is not alone based on the feedback on this sight and others.
Definitely not alone...
We've yet to see a single piece of Fending from Second Coil; can't manage to get Turn 9 down but that's more or less due to having to PUG a rotating door of randoms. It's ridiculous that we can't even convert this barrage of Healing/Casting into something else. At least then we'd be able to do something with these fucking Coats of Healing besides chuck them at retainers and randoms (like turning them into Striking or Maiming Body-slots).
I've also only just recently finally gotten an Allagan Helm (yes, the one from Turn 5). 1/33 (including 9 pre-Echo clears). This cutting edge Coil lockout and accessibility shit needs to go away. At least Sands and Oils will be readily obtainable outside of this miserable shithole.
Definitely not alone. If they scrapped the weekly lockout (again, don't give any fucks if I even get Tomestones for clears beyond the first), most of mine would probably resub. Difficulty is fine (Turn 7 can eat dicks of shit though), but everything else is awful.
A few petty randoms:
Chatmode resetting every time you log.
xhotbar becoming unlocked every time you log.
Is it just me or does Dragoon just suck? I can't seem to push good numbers with my scrubby dragoon like I can with Monk. More so than actual numbers because Im sure that I am at fault for a lot of it, they just feel so clunky. Jumps creep into gcd, phleb seems to fall off for just a little too long, missing a positional is a huge fucking headache and they have a ton of buttons you have to use. Normally I like having to use a lot of different buttons, but it doesn't feel like it makes dragoon more versatile it just feels like more buttons to do the same shit. Idk /end rant
^ And that is why I'm happy I changed my main to summoner. Dragoon started to feel like such a hassle for little reward compared to summoner which requires little effort to do a good job.
It's definitely an acquired taste, by comparison I find MNK and SMN monotonously boring (well, maybe a big of an exaggeration, but they don't offer as much....stimulation? I guess). As frustrating as the directional requirements for DRG can be, once you get good at it landing them becomes very satisfying.
Also nothing beats the chub you get from a fully buffed Life Surge + Full Thrust.
I'm not sure what you mean about Phleb. Using it in tandem with Heavy Thrust lines things up pretty much perfectly (you use Heavy before the 20s are up, which means Phlebs 18s duration syncs up very well).
It's definitely technical, guess I should just keep at it for a while until I feel in control. As for Phleb, I think it's a combo of me being ass + Low SS + having a jump or two in one set.
Was looking at the Noct shit for tanking (body/helm) and notice you lose a chunk of accuracy if you're "upgrading" from Allagan/AF2. Does Coil2.0 require less accuracy for tanks? Maybe I just need to pick up Dual Hakkum over my Zenith or something.
It's 515~ for tanks, though you'll eventually run into the same issue as with Coil1 where you end up getting 560+ acc just because whatever shit drops
That was one of the frustrating things upgrading when the new soldiery stuff dropped. Sure, more HP and all, but you're making a miss chance. I needed to pick stuff up in a specific order to not end up being under cap (not it mattered because I'm not running coil anyway, but it's the principle of the thing).
Static "leader" upset I'm looking for T9 group for more practice/possible clear. To give up any progress or wait on everyone else to catch up. .-.
Make an alt.
When I miss the SECOND Heavy Thrust
Spoiler: show
Do I really try a third time though?![]()
I actually made a comment recently in game about dragoon that even though it has far more buttons to push, I actually find BLM more entertaining to play. Maybe its the lack of procs.
