^ exactly how it feels. Besides T9 just spamming luminary weapons or farming ex primals for mounts. What else is there to do for another week or so

I know I'm way behind the curve on this.
Got WAR 50 over the weekend. Since it's my tertiary, it has no hope of getting any Mythology or Soldiery gear. I figure I'll join a party finder group for first coil. First time doing first Coil since they put in echo.
Join T2 group. I join and notice a solo tank. Seems weird, but maybe things are different now with echo buff and you can just ignore the stacks on ADS. Clear the first 3 nodes in about a minute and a half. We get to ADS and everyone is just standing there. I ask for Rot order and get "Wat" as a reply. Apparently, waiting for ADS to tick down to enrage is the NORMAL strategy. People would much rather sit around and watch their dicks get smaller for almost 10 minutes. Why apply the use of a single brain cell to pass rot so we can clear T2 4x over in the time we're waiting for it to tick down?
No one knows rot anymore man haha, Enrage is the only way I'd say 85% of ffxiv pop has cleared it. It's stupid yes.
Hence why I always laugh when I see PF that say "T2 Enrage, NO NOOBS"
I just do T2 when I need to do some stuff around the house and take the 7-8 min to get some stuff done lol.
I'm tempted some night when the FC is bored to get 2 healers and 3 ranged together and set up T2 in PF without specifying ADS method, and then go in and clear it with Rot passing, just to watch the randoms' minds explode when we don't wait for 10 minutes first.
We mostly did enrage just for convenience's sake back when the instance servers were really bad about hitting you with Piercing Laser even though you were clearly on the other side of the room. We did pass the Rot when we first learned the fight and were glad we did during that one update where they broke ADS's disco ball of doom and you had to pass the Rot because the enrage was impossible to heal through. Looking back, they probably should have left it that way.
Obligatory complaint: CT has reached new depths of potato...went in there last night for amusement/myth purposes. I had forgotten that Atomos can tether its adds if they pile up...but the next party over thoughtfully reminded me of that fact. In fact, they reminded me five times before Vote Abandon passed.
T2: It's reliability.
It's far more dependable to just have neanderthals bash their foreheads against ADS and blame the healers for screwing it up rather than expect people to use functional mechanics.
I'd love it if players were smart. I've never done rot but I know how it works. Knowing my luck, I try to do that in T2 and I'll get six other PS4 players who don't have keyboards who won't understand me but can't type a question in and will just ignore me anyway.
If I ever felt the need to make a T2 group I would make it a rot passing group. Don't know how to pass the rot? Kick. I couldn't be assed to wait around 10 minutes per run if I'm trying to farm something. Rather take a couple of wipes to get rid of the bads and do multiple runs 2-3 times as fast.
There is also an on-screen you can call up. Slow but it works.
It is but the group I put together yesterday didn't manage to kill ADS...Cleared straight through to the Boss with no problem. First attempt, 3 people stood in ADS strip attack and died. Second attempt, one of the healers cast Medica II over and over until they ran out of MP. And I mean spammed it, so they ran out of MP, even with BRDs... Plus, even with a 15% bonus... our DPS wasn't strong enough.
I /voteabandoned my own run. My WAR can wait for CTv2 for pants...
i have had 2 T2 wipes where other healer in clerics for some stupid ass reason and dont realize until my mp is drained and everyone dead, even after multiple people typing "CLERICS" in party chat. yesterday dude was like "who was in clerics" after we wiped. Well it wasn't the other healer typing CLERICS YO, so....
Half complaint, half "I don't get it": people repeatedly withdrawing from Trial Roulettes/trials. Are they really fishing for an in-progress trial? Because that's the best way to get into a Titan HM where half the party already fled and the other half is desperate enough to stay, which generally isn't great news.
My best guess is when the window pops they recheck the "adventurer in need" withdraw if it's changed since they registered.
(it doesn't matter if it changes while you're in queue, what it was when you registered is all the matters, I just assume a lot of people don't know that)
Doing Turn 9 on my main and my alt along with running my FC means I have something to do literally every time I log in. Maybe you guys should level alts (or run a very hands on FC >.>).
Disclaimer: I'm one of those dudes who loves having alts though. I almost teeter on having a 3rd character at times, maybe after I finish all classes to 50 on both my chars.
Have 8 chars, 4 of them have at least 1 50 job (3 are "done" with soldiery). Still only do coil on one outside of random friend pickup help.
Coil is just too fucking stressful to do multiple times.
I guess I could see that if I was in a group that was consistently downing T6~9 in a single day, but you're in a scant minority. My group can't muster the DPS to down T8; we're up to 3 days a week of 4+ hours of coil now, and it just burns me the heck out. Like banging my head against a wall.
