You know what they say about assuming things right? I haven't paid shit yet. Even if I did, I wouldn't cry this much.

This x 1000. Most likely people were shouting about how more servers were going to be needed and were promptly ignored by their managers. I doubt Yoshi P even got word of it at the time. If I was him i'd be pissed and be firing some people if that was the case.
Nothing wrong with people bitching that they can't get into the game THEY FUCKING PAID FOR. It's not like people in this thread are bitching about other things (well they are but still). If people were clamoring over how they didn't like the dungeon layout, or the loot system or w/e then yeah, suck it up and see if they fix it. But when you can't even log into the fucking game? Come the fuck on man. That's not childhood whining. Wouldn't you be pissed off if you went to a gas station, paid $20 for gas, then went to put the gas in your tank and the cashier was all "Oh yeah, btw sometimes you can't get the gas out and you'll have to put it back in the holster, reselect the gas type and try again over and over again till you get it"When I was 12 years old, if I threw such a crybaby bitch fit about a video game, my parents would have asked me why I was being such a bitch. And it should be expected for 12 year old kids to act like kids. Not sure what makes adults flip out over some video game shit, especially when it boils down to "I don't care if they fix it I want it fixed NOOOWWWWWW!!!!!" I hope everyone who has posted 10+ times every time they get an error and whining so hard about a video game quit, much less bleeding vags to deal with in the game in the future.

Maybe I missed something, but I think that IT guy's point was that adding servers could be totally pointless if there is something like a memory leak somewhere in the current servers.
If they know there's a leak and are trying to find it, amount of servers don't matter since that leak is going to shut down everything anyway.
Also, I know people joke about them being old crappy servers, but my honest guess is that these are simply the same servers as 1.0. They probably thought (yes badly) that since those servers handled 1.0's launch, and all of 1.0's life, there wouldn't be an issue with 2.0's launch. In some respects it's understandable. 1.0 started off as a fresh mmo, whereas 2.0 was rising from crap. They probably figured that the launch would be smaller this time around.
I'll be nice since apparently you're fucking retarded. Take your right hand. Examine the mouse in it. You'll see two buttons and a wheel. Place your right pointer finger on the little wheel. Using your finger move the little wheel up. Now scroll to the top of the page. Read from left to right the title of the thread. Notice that you're in the random complaint thread. Not the random praise thread of the happy thread. Now get the fuck out moron.
You do realize this is a COMPLAINT thread right? All I've seen you do is complain about annoyed people in a complaint thread. You haven't actually contributed to anything. You even complain about the people complaining in the complaint thread in other threads.
If you think it's annoying don't look at the thread. If you want to look at the thread, but have nothing to contribute other than to annoy more people then don't post. You're not helping anybody and they aren't hurting you. Just leave it alone.
I'd kinda doubt that's the case. Far as I know, the NA/EU data center is new, for one. Plus, relative to the development costs, housing/supporting servers, all that, the actual hardware in the racks is relatively cheap.
To a point, it could be they just don't want to have to deal with post-launch population decline, and figure they can "sorry" their way through the first few weeks. Given the lack of a proper queue system, AFK system, world pass/etc system, and so on, it might just be something they had on the table, and decided wasn't as important as some other development goal.
The "Mog Station" doesn't even list prices for all the different subscription options. I had to google the prices and found them on some non SE site. The decisions SE makes are mind boggling sometimes.
What in the flying fuck is this shit? Bleeding vag? In a COMPLAINT thread? Wow.
On-topic: Wishing there were more variety with crafting leves per level bracket. As a 12 leatherworker, there are no less than 8 level 14 things I can craft, but the leves consist of making two of them, again and again. Even traveling to other areas doesn't alleviate this. I'm forced to either use the shit I make (meh, who wants a NQ leather jerkin) or sell it for 6 gil.
Man even JP servers are full now with. There goes my plan of starting over on a jp server.
Randomly wandering around trying to find places to quest.
Haven't felt this lost since the first day of XI.
But seriously does anyone have links to external resources I can use? I have no sense of direction at all.
Also how do people go about leveling new jobs? do the quests reset or something?
Kinda glad I'm out of town for work this week now, or I'd probably be greatly annoyed at all of these server issues. Really hoping it is fixed with their new servers and stuff next week. I'd hate for a great game to get a bunch of negative press due to something as silly as server issues.
Doing my best not to contradict a complaint on the complaint thread, but Quests in this game are everywhere. As long as you have a class high enough level to trigger it (and the appropriate discipline), they will pop up on your map as a (!) icon. Each encampment has a general level range that matches the mobs of the surrounding area. If you're level 12 and you notice a ton of Lv.10~12 mobs around, say Camp Black Brush, chances are, there will be plenty of Lv.10~12 quests given by NPCs there. Also, the main scenario proceeds with a gradual level increase with each batch of quests and, upon completion, also unlocks several sidequests in the surrounding areas.
As for leveling a new class, there aren't many(any?) repeatable quests, which is why you do Behests, Instances, and Guildleves on top of the fact that you get an EXP bonus proportional to the difference between your current class' level and your highest class' level.
Is that bonus given as a visible percentage(+20%) or is it just included in the base xp you get? Also, since this is a complaint thread, I want an auto sort button.
Why can't you store CE/pre-order helms in the armoire? This shit should have been added. Starting race gear too.
Yeah I get the general gist of it but it's like I ran out. I got to 18 gladiator in the surrounding areas of ul'dah. am I supposed to go to the other cities to find more quests? I just can't find any level appropriate quests or leves.
and go easy on me I only started on sunday![]()
