Can't stop / resume the FFXIV launcher. Left my client downloading overnight but of course it failed sometime, with SE's shitty servers, probably at 8 gb. Fucking SE, get your shit together. Time to try my luck with torrents

Good luck with that, I spent 3 hours last night trying to download 1gb patch at a shitty .13 mb/s, because of the same issue and wasn't able to find any torrents. The one I did find on uTorrent refused to download for me lol. However I might point to this, where by doing so should solve your issue of the launcher failing. Spoilered for large

You're talking about a fix keeping the dl from hanging? Or keeping the downloader from remembering where you left off?

Every time I close out, even if I do it by clicking cancel like a good boy, when I start back up it always empties out the file and starts at 0 bytes again.

It hasn't taken me more than 10 minutes to get online the last 6(?) times I logged out/was disconnected. I just spammed it with my off-hand.

From what I've experienced you're waiting for the gate to open and not a single slot to free up, so to speak. My friends and I all got queued at the same time, and I see people log on in "waves", leading me to believe they wait for a certain number of openings or just allow people in in bursts.

The downloader will hang and eventually give you an error message if you have the folders for Alpha, Beta in your game folder, something about the launcher unable to update if it detects more than one in your system, so by making sure you only have one folder for ARR, that seems to get around that problem. However you still have to deal with cramped servers and abysmal download speeds, and sadly for some reason I can't figure out why this doesn't save progress like pol used to do, but I noticed that too. I'd get cut off at 225 mb out of the 1035 to download and it would restart at 0 each time.

That shouldn't matter as the DF isn't bound by your server. It pools from all servers and matches you by the language you marked.

It has taken me 3-12 minutes to find a duty. Friend says he hasn't had problems today on Gilgamesh.

The duty finder is cross server.

I know it's cross server, but I had all the 3 times a 40-50 minutes queue, and people here are arguing constantly that "the duty finder is wow shit we are true ffxi playah we spam lfg" which for me is beyond retarded, and they never queue and just sit on the door.

I did have less queue on beta than on live, I was kinda thinking it was happening on other servers too

I know it's been said, but I need to vent: Seeing every NA server being faded out when trying to make a character. Are you fucking kidding me?

It's a poor man's game lol, still server full with no afk kick solution in place. Then a whole week to fix a lousy issue. Beta, fine but these problems after release? This is gonna be another one of them mmo's with less than a 10k playerbase.
