I don't know why group queues are fucking terrible for ST/Frontlines but it needs to stop.

Doing 1900-2000 DPS in Turn 8 but still not getting the win (Multiple 10% wipes). Granted we've only had like a cumultive 4-5 hours at it as a group over a 3 week period.
Being DPS in general makes me feel so helpless. Doesn't seem to matter how much DPS you churn out, in the grand scheme of things it seems to have little impact as long as you're hitting the DPS checks.
Also fuck the BLM buff. I can still beat our BLM in 6+7 but he did 445 to my 375 in T8. No way can I match that on BRD![]()
Trust me, being helpless is better. I main healer and I love the breath of fresh air that is having no responsibilities when I play DPS.
Having played all 3 roles extensively, I cringe internally when I am both not-healer and not with my static healers.
IMO, the best players of the three roles are always ones who mained healer previously or in another game. They're usually the ones who go out of their way to help make the healers lives easier while still fulfilling their roles to maximum potential , and not be some idiot who plays recklessly only to rely on the healer to remedy their mistakes.
I used to be the static tank and whilst it was braindead easy it felt like I was actually doing something.
I always feel fucking naked when I'm going SMN on something instead of SCH.
Ok, Ruda is placed and attacking, my DoTs are up, CDs are used, charges are managed.......and that's it. Oh, the tank is dying, that's nice. A shame I can't do anything about that.
And a complaint: Anything linkable (maps, items, etc), not being underlined/bolded or something to identify it's something clickable.
And they have the flexibility to adapt to changing/bizarre/near-lost situations. For example, soloing the chimera at the end of Cutter's Cry is not difficult as a BLM (although it does take a while), but without having played RDM on XI for years and recognizing that the chimera stops to cast things a lot and therefore it is dot-kite-able, I would never have thought to attempt it in XIV.
You're a SMN; you have Physick natively. It won't save them on its own, but I've often delayed a tank's death with Physick (on BLM!) long enough for a real healer to go "oh shit, perhaps I should be doing something".
VoIP habits, you get used to calling everything in as few syllables as possible. It was either Ruda or Garu.
If I have to toss emergency heals on SMN the party isn't going to last in most circumstances. All I got is a backup rez, which the majority of the time in pugs I have to hardcast because they always die right after I bloody swiftcast shadow flare.
That said, I did just save a Titan HM run when the remaining healer on top died w/ a harcast raise. That and the tank making good use of HG. I hope they never nerf Titan HM/EX beyond Echo.
Pattern recognition in general (read: knowing how to work around this game's hilariously wacky animation delay to actual effect disjoint) is an underappreciated and underpracticed skill. Our old Coil PLD would bitch a lot every week about how he needed an upgraded weapon because T7 adds would always go running off to healers before coming back to him, even after he hit it with pre-charged Halone. We told him a billion times that it wasn't gonna solve the issue (and that Savage Blade instead of Halone would, usually) but he peace'd out before we could make it stick.
Complaint: healers who, 10 seconds after I immediately popped swiftraise on a guy as he died, say "I'll get raise". Don't tell me. Do it faster.
Let me stop this healer circlejerk right here. I bet half of you guys never use eye for an eye!
Seriously. One week I subbed for a friend's group on a monk alt. Getting to be a silent DPS was great. T9 was particularly fun. Oh look, there's bahamut's claw. Oh look, there's meteor stream. Oh look, there's thermionic beam. AND somebody else is calling divebomb spots for me? Bliss.
holy shit I just realized I could have permanent E4E (whm/sch/smn/smn/blm) and yet I NEVER get it
Sheeeeet...I use E4E and my tanks should be thrilled. Usually the other healer in my 8-mans or CT doesn't even use Stoneskin. Fucking knuckle-draggers. I almost always Stoneskin everyone but the other healer. Even fairies and egis. I wait to see if the other healer puts up his own Stoneskin - it happens less than 10% of the time.
Our main tank gets full E4E on phase 1 on T9 (can't talk about phase 4 because currently we barely reach it) so he can actually survive when he forgets or uses a cooldown late (he's pretty mediocre, but eh, so am I as a DPS), and I have to tell everyone except our SCH that it's their turn to use it. And, even if they have to use it at the exact same moment every time, if I don't say "Joe, E4E", 90% of the time they forget.
I still can't complain much since it's my only real responsibility other than pressing buttons hard, but it's a really curious situation.
Anyone know what this bodypiece is?
Can't find shit on glams in this game, maybe Mr. Happy should get hot on that.
I'm pretty certain it's currently-non-existent NPC apparel.
