Speaking of the mounts, has anyone gotten all of the horses? I remember Yoshi-P saying something vague about something happening if you get all of them during a Live Letter.

Yoshida's E3 accounts have all of the mounts (sans Ramuh, obviously). See: Yoshida Eee / Eee Yoshida on various servers.

One might expect something like a rainbow pony or somesuch, but it's certainly not in xivdb or anything.

Meanwhile SE are arguing that they made the mounts super rare to get people doing primals again once they get their weapon/whatever. Because making it so rare people feel it's not worth it is going to get people doing primals. If they want me going back they need to give me a goal that I feel is achievable in a decent amount of time, not shitty 1 in 100 chance of drop followed by 1 in 8 chance of winning the lot. I've no desire to kill a primal 800 times and hope I'm on the average side of luck.

Last time a FC member talked about doing primals for mounts I instantly logged out.
The drop rate is ridiculously low and the result of this is exactly the opposite of what was intended. A lot of people are just leaving primals alone once they cleared.

I wish I could at least enter primals (or any duty, really) with fewer than 8. There are a handful of people I can rouse to farm mounts or spam old content, but it's not a full party.

Achievement is deciphering + opening the chest, so you could just buy 20 off the Market Board. I mean, minor difference, but at first I read your post as the achievement was it actually dropping.

Yup. Always a struggle for me to gamble on the chance of a 6mil nutkin drop or an easy 250k.

More or less decided to sell any I happen to get after the first one I got dropped stuff valuing less than 5k total discounting the 10k gil drop.

Might as well just lob this all in with the other retarded decisions made pertaining to RNG drops. lol At least ponies aren't gear and subject to obsolescence every 6~ months, if there's an upside here.

XIV certainly doesn't do a very good job of keeping highly touted stuff (in the sense it's considered worth dedicating a portion of an update trailer to) like Extremes relevant at all. Then again maybe if the next Zodiac stage involves them..
