I'm floored to think that Hyperion is only half the population of the biggest servers.

Also his counts show the same number for Magitek as Gilded Magitek, so that doesn't look right at all.

It's just a guesstimate from reading all the FC members so I'm sure there are some flaws but it's probably a decent guess. There will be an official FFXIV Census coming soon I think.

This isn't true for spells at least. I hunted on WHM for several weeks before I switched to WAR recently. I've always gotten credit when I registered a hit and always gotten zero when I missed. On my ilvl95ish WHM with zenith, I've had aero + fluid aura + swiftcast stone 2 all miss a B two mobs in a row lol (and zero credit of course). It's not usually that bad, but it happens. After that I just decided to screw messing with the instant cast spells and swift+holy to start out.

The reason I switched to WAR is cause I seemed to have some RNG problems with WHM enmity. It's hard to tell if it's related to the mob or party members dissappearing, or what, but that's what I thought it was. There were times in the same hunt session where I'd be pulling hate 1/2 way or more into an A kill then on other mobs with the same preparation and execution I'd not even make the enmity list. WAR at least has been consistent and great at threat.

For WHM btw, after pre-buffing the pt with medica 2, placing a ton of regens outside the party before the pull is a great way to build massive hate initially (after you get that 1st hit in).

People who post hunt mob locations without any mention of the rank.

As long as they give the name of the mob. Most people know which ones are which rank by now. But there are the trolls who post a location with no name or rank or anything, just trying to get people to go to the coords they posted. It gets pretty annoying if you have a server full of people who have nothing better to do than troll hunters.

Had a bunch of d/cs today, for the first time since I started playing. Duty finder was acting especially odd today as well, not sure what's up, server strain or something.

I actually liked the seasonal event. It was short and sweet and everyone was having fun around the NPC after they finished their quest. Seeing the fireworks from the housing/outdoor areas is a nice touch too, everyone likes fireworks. It doesn't have to be some huge elaborate thing, after all. Plus, yukatas are cool. Prepare for a ginormous wave of new yukata glamours.

I love the new macros i've been seeing:
"NM Sighted. Could be A, could be B, who cares? Get your butt here if you want seals."
"So I hear theres a NM up in <flag>"
"ABCDEFG NM Sighted. Want to know the rank? Enjoy having no seals!"

Its important to remember that these are all relays. Not everyone has space (or cares to have) a flag macro for A, B, S, Unconfirmed, Troll report, etc. I for one am a firm believer of doing your own homework and taking the odd die-roll that Maracco spawned at 0:01. If you have to ask what a rank is you better be staring down an A rank right now, otherwise the B you're looking at must have been worth more than the potential A you could have had.

I dont answer ppl that asked for ranks anymore, if you have time to ask such questions, chances are you have no party and will not get there on time anyway.

I've began to dislike macros with mob names because in order for that macro to work as inended the guy has to run to the mob first. By the time he runs there to do that there's little chance anyone else will be able to get there unless the mob is close to the aetheryte. Good example is when people tell you Melt is up way at the top of the map. You immediately teleport and the mob dies just before you arrive. I'd rather he tell me the location as he is running there himself, he and his party are still going to beat the pack if they delay a little and play it smart. You don't need to wait until your whole party is at the mob before announcing.

Holy shit, now I understand why so many ppl are so friggin bad. I watched them play during the gamescom. Ppl who were supposed to be veterans and said they knew what they did. And I wanted to scratch my eyes out. I mean dude, there's "I'm not a minmaxer / perfectionist, but I know how to read the skill description" and then there's gtfo.
