You would have just reclaimed, gotten the next synth to 90%, and had it make an NQ.

RNJesus works in mysterious ways.
Reclaim can still fail. Have a guy in my ls who lost two primal mats to it.
As always, weigh your options when using reclaim, blah blah. The cost of primal mats (and the utter irrelevancy of HQing them) means you shouldn't be using reclaim on those...
Nobody's going to cry over the mats of a lost i90 ring.
They really need to make chat commands for name/HP display options.
I'm so tired of having to open the char config menu, go to the name display tab, and then go thru each individual sub-tab for different kinds of targets whenever I want to swap between a normal/minimal display.
While they're at it, add a way to save custom system/character configuration settings.
Just export it from thé launcher?
Want to be able to change it in game on the fly.
The game punishes so much for failing a meld.
Not saving the last meld selection competes with the excruciatingly sluggish "I failed" animation lock. Then you fail 30+ melds...
Meanwhile, it takes 2 seconds to select a new meld after a successful one.
Button is grayed out. Can't see what the glow on the shield looks like
(bottom left button = show/hide weapon
then show/hide hat
then show/hide main gear
engage/disenage (grayed out)
the following button does nothing for me
then reset)
One way to find out Kai! Buy the shield. :D
The old system would of made a penta melded item maxed out worth well over 100mil with prices. Maybe even more.
Then again it would of been much stronger too most likely as good as coil if not better.
For anyone living under a rock while the calamity happened, in 1.0 a failed materia affixing would destroy the whole item you were melding it to.
Now, success rates were generally a little better than we have now, but this made most items further than 2meld very risky and very pricy.
(Just in case... I am aware of how melding worked in 1.0. My complaint is specifically on the extra waiting time of the failure animation and the fact the game still doesn't save the meld menu's selections.)
A complaint:
FFXIV's music is such shit in comparison to FFXI.
Promyvion
Sea
Zi'tah
Caedarva Mire
Arrapago Reef
Al'taieu (especially this one!)
ect
The music in that game, well, repeated, and gave each map a unique feel. The music in this game is alright, but it doesn't add any character to any zones. It doesn't even repeat. You get many minutes of silence. The dungeon music is decent, but again, doesn't repeat...
I feel the game really let down with the music in comparison to XI.
By and large the most memorable tracks in XIV are the (generally worse) rehashes of older FF games.
