Just making sure, but you don't need to do anything but touch a mob in the fate to qualify for an atma. So tag every fate in the zone then start finishing any to kill time. If zone is slow go to another tag all the fates and wait or slowly kill them...etc. Most efficient way to get them.

that doesnt work if the fate doesnt get cleared i think, usually its only 2-3 people per zone, highest i have seen is 6 doing fates. This might have worked when atma farming was at its peak. 1/3 of the time I am solo on a fate, 2/3 of the time 1-3 other persons show up.

Pretty sure you can get an Atma from a failed FATE... But I'm supposing I could be wrong

Or were you saying its not time efficient anymore cause they'll all probably take the 15 min to time out instead of being completed quickly

You can get Atma from failed FATEs.

If the FATE resets, you'll lose your credit, so that tactic will work for kill-all-the-things FATEs, but not bosses. If people aren't fighting the bosses, you may as well skip unless there's nothing else to do.

in other words in kill all the things fates i just have to kill one mob and move on, while on boss atmas i have to make sure the boss dies.

Yup, usually tag all fates once, then work on soloing or helping clear a boss fate is the best course.

If other people are doing the FATE you can screw off after tagging it as long as they complete it or fail it without resetting it.

If they time out and the FATE fails, you should still get credit.

Keep getting target out of range error messages while tossing instants on SCH even though I'm well in range, and the skill goes off anyways.

That and my routing to the game seems shit tonight. Lot of packets being dropped. Glad my static doesn't run on weekends.

Bit late but you just need to wait until there is under a minute left on the fate and then pull the boss. The fate will fail but you still get credit and an Atma chance.

Yep. Also avatar hits count (but not chocobos) so if you idle in a kill-all-the-things FATE and your pet defends you, you'll still get credit there too. IIRC you don't even have to sync for it to work (though obviously you need to be of a level where the FATE mobs would aggro you, or get hit in an AOE).
