I hate it when mages complain because they have to use their MP, and would rather sit on near full mp instead of letting the melee push it to the limit and require more cures, but finish content faster or kill things they couldn't normally manage for another few more levels.

SCH/SMN/BLM have 0 rights to be bitching about this. They have practically infinite MP.

A good interview about the whole issues with the servers and why it's not a simple "Run to bestbuy and get more servers" idea that a lot of people think it is. Since servers need to all be custom made.

Sim city and D3 issues were due to always on DRM shit I believe? They didn't NEED to be online all the time and require such a server overload, but they wanted to fuck over their players. FFXIV server issue is roughly the same, but with slightly different reasons.

The point still stands, you cute avatar you. If a product is advertised to work in some way and does not, a customer has the right to complain about the product. The customer also has the right to ignore tryhards who bitch about a customer expressing a right to complain about a product's deficiencies.

SE's about to give us a few more days of freedom due to the issues. Does it matter if that was done as a response to the complaints about the issues or the issues themselves?

Self-entitled? So, people that purchased something on the premise of it working as advertised are self-entitled? Look, you may have a point with people not being patient but I disagree with the self-entitled comment. To me it's like, I go buy a brand new car and it's sold to me as a working vehicle but when I get in it, sometimes it'll start and others it takes 10-15 minutes to start and then when it does, about a mile down the road it shuts off so I have to repeat the start process.....or it starts up but then when I turn on the radio or AC, it shuts off again causing me to again, repeat the starting process. I think it's silly that people are defending them because the real issue, in my opinion, isn't the fact that they are locking players out but rather that there is no queue that you can sit in like on a WoW server etc. A simple queue allowing people to sit in showing their place and estimated time would be suffice for a lot of self-entitled motherfuckers like myself. I'm not going to quit or burn down the SE headquarters but I do hope they fix it so people can pick a server to play on with their friends and enjoy the game. They have a solid product but all of these issues coupled with the failed 1.0 launch might deter people and I'd hate that because I want to see SE and the game be successful.

Oh I agree that we have every right to complain, and the free days i'm sure are more due to complaints then anything else. Also my avatar is fucking adorable indeed, if it was anymore I might get diabetes.

Really? I thought the D3 launch was almost the same as this? I didn't play at launch so I only read the complaints and articles, but wasn't it basically server congestion causing people to be unable to even login to play the game at the start?

Um i'm pretty sure this is in the ToS of the internet from it's original funding and implementation. It was to allow military and science institutions to "communicate" and that communication was them bitching to each other.

I never had at issues logging into D3 ever. The problems came with the fact that the AH was down well over a week. And some massive lag spikes pissing hardcore players off. In XIV if I dc it takes me 2-3 hours to get back in. Much much worse.

It never takes me more than 5mins to get into XIV after the first day. D3 was p. much unplayable for me on the first week due to some ridiculous rubber banding. Much, much worse.

But what made D3 much worse is the fact that the game didn't have to fuck you over like that, there was simply no reason for the problems to exist. Nothing to gain but to fuck over the customer. Pretty much like with Simcity. At least MMO is always-online by its very nature. D3 always had the most obvious fix to fall back on - "make the game work offline".

I don't think you know what 'logic' is there, Lucavi. Not real sure what Blizzard and EA have to do with this as I said nothing about them, but hey, that's cool. You're cool for saying I'm cool for bitching about the bitchers. :>

TBH, any game that has a massive need for online is seemingly always doomed to have a poor launch, but there's a difference between a poor launch where you have connection issues here and there or some lag due to servers unable to handle things, and a poor launch where you literally have to try signing in for 2-3 hours (if you're lucky) as Eanae mentioned.

My point.. people do have the right to complain and they are validated in their being upset because this shit just ain't flying, but there's a point where the bitching just turns into repetitive whining. There's literally nothing *we* can do, after all. It's up to SE now to right the ship and fix their shitty servers. That's all I meant. :3

D3 was unplayable the first 72 hours. Way worse than xiv pre-release. If you consider xiv after pre-release though... I can't say that xiv's launch was better.
