bleh that's annoying from a lore PoV since the myth gear is supposed to be gear Rowena commissioned after the flood of adventurers using artifact gear

If the only way to obtain said gear is to collect these "tokens" from the new dungeons lore will be preserved. She simply asks for another currency now.

I'd be more worried, from a lore pov, that more than one BLM, or one SCH, or one DRG, to name a few, would be using artifact gear, considering the status of "one of their kind" they get in their quests. So, making that business decision would be strange to say the least.

Scholar's artifact, for the most part, is a reproduction. You go around asking people to craft it for you based on Nymian schematics. Warrior artifact armor is similar in that I'm fairly certain Curious Gorge says he's not giving you the real thing (except maybe the coat).

Anyways, yes there are always plotholes, but the fact they went out of their way to explore multiple people using myth gear but not artifact makes me sad I guess?

WAR artifact armor is the real thing. It's Gorge's armor that is a replica.

That said, the only thing that differentiates the WAR artifact armor and replica armor are runes etched somewhere into the armor, which Gorge had hoped to duplicate after you collected the armor.

Well, since rocl said myth gear was comissioned from Rowena after seeing so many adventurers with artifact gear (didn't know this bit, btw, I like how they try to explain the different gear we get), I asked that because Rowena, theoretically, shouldn't be seeing many adventurers in true artifact gear. I've always assumed that the adventurers that have a proper job, and not just a class, are a select few, and thus a ""real"" Revenant's Toll would actually be floodeed with people with crafted gear, dungeon gear, etc., instead of lots of allagan and job-related equipment.

That's actually a much better explanation. Well, those are still job-specific gears, and thus still not many people would be able to use them, but still, sounds like a good explanation to me.

I might look it up later, but yes there is a major hole regarding the fact multiple adventurers have artifact gear. Hell, in the Heavensward trailer there's multiple azure dragoons. I just always liked the idea they tried to explain myth gear being replicas/enhanced version of artifact gear Rowena had made after seeing adventurers use it so making them dungeon drops just makes me sad.

Maybe the ones in dungeons are from scrubs so bad that they actually died in the dungeon and were lost forever.

Think about it this way.

Maybe the first sets of myth gear were replicas, but now they've been around for so long that they're beaten up. Those antique gauntlets that Nooby McShooby picked up and turned in to Rowena in 2.4? That was the pair of valor gauntlets I got in 2.0 that I discarded to make room in my inventory. I had those before Rev Toll was even a thing, man.

But Ferne spoke directly to this in basically saying "You're the only hero, ignore all those other guys, they're just cheap imitations."

It's a willing-suspension-of-disbelief thing you simply have to subscribe to in an MMO. You can just walk up to a friend and say "Well, I just defeated Ultima Weapon and saved the world and now nobody else ever needs to worry about Ultima Weapon ever again. Oh? What's that? You haven't fought Ultima Weapon yet? Well, let's go!!!"
