I'm trying desperately to remember where it is, I think it might be from Rowena herself or a forum post, I can't recall. I might look it up later, but yes there is a major hole regarding the fact multiple adventurers have artifact gear. Hell, in the Heavensward trailer there's multiple azure dragoons. I just always liked the idea they tried to explain myth gear being replicas/enhanced version of artifact gear Rowena had made after seeing adventurers use it so making them dungeon drops just makes me sad.

Yeah I hope they don't make them dungeon drops (though it is likely since they said they are removing them from both allied seal and tome shops).

I only started recently and didn't read the patch notes until just recently. I really wanted all relic (or tome of myth sets) armor sets for all jobs. Didn't think to buy them in advance until now and it is a bit too late since I was going to get it yesterday but 24 hour maint >.<.

If I get stuck on some dungeon going 1/30 on some DRG myth armor piece, then I am going to be sad because I could have bought all tome of myth sets just before the maint . I had enough allied seals for the whole set and was going to use them but didn't read news in advance and didn't know about 24 hour maint. Well hopefully if they do end up becoming dungeon drops, I hope the drop rates are good (like two to three armor pieces from each boss) so I can finish up all job sets. I want all of them eventually for glamour. Well, now I know I should get every armor possible and save it for glamour in case they move it to a harder (or more tedious) place to get it.

It's nice that you can at least not have parry in all of those slots, and I guess eventually we'll have custom-stat Relic at 135 to replace the parry forced on DW weapon.

at least there is slots that got no parry at all really made me happy, just hoping to get lucky with those 3 pieces from coil now

Bwahahaha, how's it feel! I suffered with this as brd the entire last patch. My crit rate which was near 600 slowly decreased until it was even under 500.

On the other hand, BLMs have to be really happy, it's possible to get 530 acc and 600ish spell speed in i130 gear for them. That's a 2.2 GCD, churning fires like there's no tomorrow.

It's patch day, and all my raid group wants to do is "farm" T6. Tried zerg strat, but can't do it because 110 scrublords can't break 250 DPS or stay alive to get to it. Tried super slug, which still blew up from people dying and/or not knowing how to DPS. On one zerg attempt the slugs went to feed anyways, because people aoe single target bosses enough to do that.

Despite raiding for months, our MT uses an atma weapon but passes stones every week. Some people are still in myth gear on their mains. The WHM doesn't know how to medica II. I'm fairly certain the SCH uses Eos just so he can fuck around on FB during fights. Neither healer will so much as DoT anything. OT stays in shield oath for everything. T8 needs to be single tanked to meet dps checks alone (which we barely made for our only kill), provided the tank doesn't get flattened from the dreads. We tried to single tank T9 too, and get 6+ meteors anyways. It's just an overall clusterfuck, and each and every kill we've gotten has more or less been the result of blind luck and perfect RNG.

In any case, i109 DRG LFG. /end bitchy bitter rant.

Could be worse, my FC shat on me in the days before the patch by deciding to take some random SMN from another server in the third group rather than me because 2 BLMs isn't ideal. Yet they stuck 2 SMN in group 2 for more raise. I've no intention of PUGing Coil this patch so unless I find a good group soon I'm out until 3.0.

I'm not trolling.. just being 100% honest. I played ffxi until 2009 and bought ffxiv when it came out for ps3 and even bought a ps4 for it because I had planned on playing this game for some time.

I haven't played for a couple weeks now because the game has become stale. What is the point of increasing ilvl every 3 months and having to save up new myth for gear that is not game breaking or add any element to play style besides increase a few stat points?

I KNOW THIS GAME IS NOT FFXI.... but is this like WOW shit? i've never played that game and i think i know why...

My previous MMO experience was only FFxi and from what I remember final fantasy end game was about team work and working to get BiS for different play styles and gear for TP moves and situational stuff for different bosses. It was ilvl 75 and it didn't change for years... byakkos haidate, omega gear for pld, relic weapons, hnm gear drops, -phys dmg, haste gear, gear swaps....

ffxiv progression is just save up a different kind of myth and fight some bosses again that should have stayed the same ilvl it was previously? but keep getting gear that is obsolete so that you can fight the next boss because its vit and str are higher?

Yes I enjoyed the variety of gear in XI, and packing different gear for different situations, but I never ever want to go back to gearswaps mid-combat again.

And let's not kid ourselves: the end result of horizontal or vertical progression is the same. We get gear with better numbers, so we can kill the latest boss, so we can get the gear they drop, so we can stand in town and have randoms gawk at us. That feel when people in town stop running, turn their head towards you, and stare for a while checking your gear...that's why you do this.
