I don't want to think of the people who sit on twitch to watch someone play an MMO. I'd rather watch some unpopular low number stream struggle through some NES/SNES game that they've never played before.

Get fairly drunk last night watching the Caps game with some friends at a bar. Come home and decide "I am going to duty finder T10!" Came back to the game a couple weeks after a lengthy break, so I had literally never set foot in the instance. Watch a video, read a guide, and feel like I have a decent handle on the mechanics (playing PLD). Nonetheless, I am expecting a total exercise in futility from the DF. The following happens:

1) Enter and wipe because I missed the Heat Lightning swap; talk it over and try again
2) Wipe the 2nd time due to botched tether / heat lightning / something else by DPS; reconfigure tether numbers and go again
3) Get down to like 5%, someone botches a tether (two die), then four more die from a charge shortly thereafter, just healer and me left, I HG Critical Rip with like 500 HP, healer LB3s, and victory!

Was pretty amazing to me. Not sure I feel as confident about winning T11 in DF though.

One of these days I'll pay attention and figure out why the someone-died AoE does laughable damage sometimes, and other times it one-shots you even with no heat lightning debuff on.

Doesn't seem to matter how many thunder-resistance-down stacks you have either.

Just like on rare occasion if you tank swap on HL you can still die to crackle hiss, you can still have vuln debuff on right as it hits. HL doesn't hit targets all at once, it's slightly staggered, so being hit last puts you at risk.

Got my T13 clear, and through DF no less. I didn't know it at the start, but I had stumbled into a 7 man premade from Malboro. 5 of us got the achievement at the end too. Good times were had.

Nah it's T11 because people like to kill tanks on last phase. Also, the trash mobs...

The worse thing to happen in T11 PUG is having 2x straight Raid tethers

But its the same pairs both times, but the colors are swapped. So it confuses people and someone realizes they can just sit still, but the other person just defaults to move to the other color. So both healers die as well as the brd so you can't even healer LB3 to try to save the last 5-7 minutes of effort.

He's just saying that it sucks when you get 2x raid tethers in a row, but the colors are reversed on the second one (still tethering the same people). A lot of people will think they can just stand still, when other people will always go to the correct color.

In pugs I usually tell the group "always switch" on tethers but yeah people don't listen

The music in this game is so fucking good it's insane. Also the samples of heavensward music so far has been insanely good too.

Me and my friends from WoW all quit having decided that trying to field 20 people to do hardcore content was bullshit. Yesterday someone needed garuda hard and we had 7 people ready to go, with the last guy in our FC closing in on 50 as an offtank...

8 man is a great size for raiding. Going to try to get through as much of Binding Coil (lol echo lol 110/130 gear I know) before HW comes out as we can.

While the ARR-era tunes are alright, I'm somewhat hoping they sneak more 1.0 music into the expansion, or at least do another print of the Before Meteor ost so I can get a copy this time.

They still got some battle themes they could slot into new dungeons. I can picture this fitting well in a future Castrum runabout.


I know Uematsu is doing the Heavensward theme, has there been any word if he or Mizuta are contributing to the expansion otherwise, or just Soken at the helm as he's been thus far for ARR?

I think you'll all be happy to know that each steed will soon be getting their respective primal theme. Quite exciting! :D
