I had this one run where this AST pulled out 100-150k dmg on that run and I was just dumbfounded by how much damage they were able to dish out. Most runs healers wont even touch 5k-10k so this was a surprise. I feel sorry for that group though because I know a lot of people died as Ive never been on a run where I could say we had an abundance of healers or even just the right amount, its generally 1-2 healers for the whole alliance if that.
sounds like he switched class mid-run
Even as SCH in INT gear you'd have to shirk pretty much all your healing responsibility to hit that high consistently. Definitely isn't feasible for an AST to hit that.
Yeah, most of my damage on AST comes from using Stella to annoy people. AST definitely isn't a death machine, just really hard to kill.
They finally went where they belong:

I wanted to believe, I wanted someone to be like "your healers suck if they cant dps 80k +, for pvp"
I guess I have some nostalgia from the days on AION, where cleric pvp dps was surprisingly good, if not better than it should have been, but then Im reminded of its pay to win style and without other friends its easily time/money sink, and probably not worth returning to without them.
See, back in 2.1 when they added Wolves Den both WHM and SCH were absolute monsters and were unkillable and shit out silly amounts of damage. When they added Frontlines it wasn't uncommon to see premades running groups of 4 or 5 WHM in a single party just because they could run up to a point (Secure was the only Frontline mode back then), stack a bunch of Medica 2 and regens and then spam Holy with Cleric Stance on and obliterate anyone who tried to stay on the point. It was really fucking dumb and SE responded to it by completely destroying healers ability to stack regens and disabled Clerics Stance in PvP. PvP was complete garbage back then and nobody should actually want that shit to ever make a return. Even now healers are still a bit overtuned in PvP, the ramp up in DPS at 60 cap and the addition of personal LBs in Seize and Slaughter has helped a little but it's still a huge source of imbalance (especially with AST now) imo.
That said you do have the option of gearing specifically for INT as a healer and still being able to throw out some damage. Unfortunately there's far less options for items to use now compared to at 50 cap, so you're kind of limited to the Field Commander set from the Seize achievement rewards. That set gives you a ton of both MND and INT, then you can throw on a mix of INT, MND and VIT accessories for whatever you want on the right side. Your heals obviously suffer a bit, but it rarely matters and you can strike whatever balance you want on accessories until you're comfortable with it. In zergy 72 mans the damage gain isn't often worth mentioning but in small skirmishes and those lucky 24 man pops it can make a huge difference. When the new Wolves Den is added (either 4v4 or 8v8, not sure what they're doing) the INT setup is gonna be really nice again.
A quick and easy change to have things work both ways would be to give a PvP ability for healers that did what Cleric Stance did.
Just give it a 1m cooldown and it can't be used in battle.
I mean, they clearly have some internal modifiers to change the functions of actions in PvP. Even if it is just effect durations.
Could they not just... make Cleric Stance work like ^ that, in PvP? I realize the tooltip would be super fucking bloated and Yoshi is riding a "new players will be confused" flag on anything these days but *shrug*. It would be a lot more simple than putting another ability on our already bloated healer hotbars.
Living Dead's tooltip is the most bloated and confusing shit ever at first glance. New players prolly have no clue.
yea i can summarise that for SE
"You will not die, but if you dont heal up full by the time its wearing off, you dead!"

I killed someone as an AST. Threw dots on someone who was running away. Next thing I know i see 'rampage' pop up on my screen.
I hope that PLD was embarrassed.
I've been working on a custom macro for Living Dead, the only /p macro I have on DRK, which explains in a nutshell what to do.
/p Using {Living Dead} {Cure} <hp> HP+1 within 10 seconds if I hit 1 HP.
When friends make you a gift and you're all like yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
