enjoying levelling extra classes as opposed to raiding which i did in 2.x. not capping tomestones, just relaxing and taking it easy. i know it's just replacing the gear grind with level grind, but it's fun for now.

While it caused a wipe, we still laughed for several minutes.
I'll be honest, I have no idea what's going on there.
Black Mage has Fire Beam marker and uses Aetherial Manipulation to dodge Earth Missle, he dashes himself to someone with Fire Beam so he eats two fire beams. This kills the Black Mage, who has Compressed Water, so it triggers Punishing Wave which wipes the raid.
I think, anyways.
Both debuff carriers died at the same time. The DRG (Compressed Thunder) managed to eat two Fire Beams (NIN's and BLM's) which triggered Punishing Thunder at the same time as the Wave.
Vortexer is the best robot.

Leveling a different character up and finding some interesting occurrences knowing how the story goes. It's funny how the first quest you interact with Ilberd as captain in the crystal braves is titled "Traitor in the Midst".
Spoiler: show
Random praise for my static SCH. Our WHm DCed right after the first concussion in A5s. Our SCH solo healed until Chimera while still doing Gorilla.
Solo healing without warning is one thing but he still did the center trigger (whm does it normally) and did his gorilla duties.
The last zone in Heavensward. Really does give a Sky/Sea vibe. Sadly it will never be like them though.
Because they cannot be like XI ever, XIV has to be a special snowflake that does none of the things the way XI did.
Even though XI was a years long exercise in learning how to make a good, well-balanced MMO, they decided to throw everything they learned out the window and start from scratch because that's how SE rolls.
Nonsense, XI is learning directly from XIV by increasing the evasion of everything so you have to constantly push up your accuracy value if you want to do said content. That artificial difficulty curve.
Wasn't it because Yoshida didn't want to alienate small guilds from content or some BS excuse like that?
Still makes no sense to me either way. I'd love to see endgame Guildheists or a ZNM like to actually bring a guild together instead of being a linkshell with a few perks.
Finished the story up to The Antitower (Yay for grinding til i180...) and I got to say the story in Heavensward is far better than the 2.0 story by a large margin.
thats because 2.x storyline is actually in coil, and the MSQ is just filler.
2.0 could basically be renamed to Ballad of Gaius, then 2.1 - 2.4 we spend our time going super sayain only to have some asshole be like nah no super sayain for you and takes away all your power in 2.5, so you spend all of 3.0 trying to go super sayain again.
Coil was basically squares way of giving a character no one had any interest in a story and then prompty killing her off when it was all said and done and hasn't been seen since with zero explination in the msq.
This is how I grasp'd the story telling of FF14.
You can just do them at level 60
