Honest question: why are people still doing hunts?
Honest question: why are people still doing hunts?
if I were to guess they're prepping for patch 3.5 where they'll certainly put the gobcoats and gobtwines in hunts again?
I start hunts and forget until I randomly come across the mobs. Meh
To go from Aurum Vale to Snowcloak is just too funny. One of the worst to one of the best. The music, the yeti fight - so fun - I am digging this. And LOL Minfilia finally put some clothes on!
holy fuck the Antitower
I mean, seriously. best dungeon so far. poroggos! david bowie! CALCABRINA! so awesome.
keeper is gross. I had to do that last night for Anima and I do not remember Midgardsormr having so many goddamn AoEs, or the second dragon taking so long to kill.
Snowcloak I love though. did that one again too (for the Anima of course) and it was as fun as I remember. SNOWBALL FIGHT!!
The tank probably didn't know where to tank the dragon...
Ah, you're right. I forgot about that - that's what happened.
Also so many forget/don't realize they should lb 2nd dragon.
Sephirot fight last night; thank you to whoever designed that. These endgame trials just keep getting more and more fun. Yeah we died a few times because half the group was new, but it was still a blast to play through. I really enjoy groups where people aren't quite ready for the battle but are willing to practice together and learn; it's almost more fun than when you steamroll because of the sense of cooperation and teamwork.
Also phase 3 mechanics are fun as hell. WHEEEEEEEEEE getting punted all over the place. Our only real fail was Earth Shaker; I was like "pls to bait the green marker away from group" but nobody would listen lol. Well, that and Da'at, which people thought you were supposed to shield and cluster for - pls no spread out thx.
Also as someone with a passing interest in Kabbalah, you have no idea how much I loved the theme of Sephirot's attacks <3
All in all a well-designed and entertaining battle. Can't wait for Sophia tonight!
Do yourself a favor and get into the Ex version of said fights as much as possible. I haven't done Thordan in a dog's age so I have no idea how much +60 item levels has changed how many mechanics you fly through but the extreme fights are very, very, very well done and are a joy to progress through. Sephirot punches actually throw you across the arena instead of give you an itty bitty knockback.
Yeah I'm planning on doing those soon for sure. Bismarck EX I find really boring, but Ravana EX is an intricate waltz of mechanics and I adore it. It really does feel like you're dancing around. Line AoEs -> dodge fire circles while splitting for Prelude to Liberation circles -> stack behind Ravana for Liberation -> stand in the middle and wait for the second AoE to drop, then run to that side and quickly follow Ravana's charges around the room. I mean it's just fun.
On first glance, Sophia hard looks fairly boring but EX looks really fun too.
Ravana EX is by far my favorite fight in the game. Sephirot is also good. Haven't done Sophia yet, alas.
Raids can all suck a dick, though. Savage has not been fun this expansion.
Thordan is the best ;o
Got Thordan bird lastnight before calling it a day, I haven't touched the fight since 3.1 and I'm honestly amazed at how bad people are.
He died by 3rd dragon eye but the mechanics were still going off, people were stacking in mid and eating the charge, tether and the dive and wondering why they were dying. I'm baffled as to how these people function elsewhere in the game.
A7S and A8S were the most fun fights for me, very satisfying to clear prior to any nerfs. 9-12 is just ResidentSleeper.
A7S is the most boring and annoying fight of all for me lol, fuck that fight. Love A6S and A8S though, love the robots in general.
