^ This. I finished the story last weekend (with a full group of new people, so no annoying people yelling "skip the cutscenes"), and damn that was a good ending. Was grinning like an idiot the entire dungeon.

Anyone know the names of the tracks played in the last 3~4 boss fights? Really want to listen to those again

Ugh, skipping the scenes in Praetorian(sp?) hurt my soul.

Watching them in the Inn only made me feel even worse. The dungeon would have been SO much better with some story to it.

It's easier to tank lower level (the initial 3) dungeons as CNJ than a cripple GLA who can't use flash or savage blade to keep hate.

So I resorted to spamming Provoke/Flash and just cured myself instead of looking for 3 other bars to cure. Worked most of the time. /flex

Isn't it the Opera thing from 1.0? I'm crap with names.

As for people yelling skip Cutscenes.
I usually just tell them to either deal with it, or make your own group and don't use DF.
I'll skip the mobs we can skip, I'll ask that much of people, but at the same time, don't go mental when they or their pet aggro's something they shouldn't have.

It would be different if I was shouting for a speedrun got 7 other people applying, went in and people would be watching cutscenes.

I didn't skip them in either CM or Praetorium, and Praetorium went super smooth but they decided to start the final boss before I was out so I only got to experience the last half of that fight, which was a minor annoyance.

I also didn't skip them in CM, however that experience was severely cheapened. At the start I said I wasn't skipping cutscenes and to deal with it. A couple just laughed, said no, others called me a troll. By the time I got done watching the first cutscene they were at the first boss. I'm honestly surprised they waited for me before fighting it. That was the entire dungeon, being in cutscenes for 80% and in a boss fight for 20%. I learned absolutely zilch about the mechanics of the dungeon. All I did was tank the adds on the bosses. I was incredibly annoyed at the whole situation.

That being said, Praetorium was absolutely epic and the post-credits ending got me genuinely excited about the story in the future. I actually complained to my FC right after the credits that Bahamut wasn't mentioned once throughout the entire thing, not even in passing, and then a few minutes later dat roar happened and then the Ascians named their god. Was a total "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SHIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTT" moment.

Joined a new FC last night, and tanked in AK runs for a few of them.

Get told I'm best tank they ever had, which includes the tanks in their FC.

I know that feel.

So many people have complimented my tanking that I've started screencapping it and some rainy day I'm going to make a compliment-collage in photoshop

it'll be glorious

but seriously hc raid tanking/healing in wow has more than prepared me for just about everything this game has thrown at me thus far

You know, while I have run into some absolute morons in groups in low-level dungeons (tanks that don't use Flash at all, no one follows markers, etc.), whenever I end up sucking it up and joining a DF Praetorium late at night... I'm surprised at the amount of competence despite the rampant FATE-grinders and general stupidity across the board.

Usually, each group I join will be 100% AF jobs with completely shit jewelry, 5~6 of them will be completely new to the instance, and 1~2 will be completely silent. I guess it's so hard to find someone experienced that's not absolutely fed-up/impatient with non-speed-runs, that they appreciate the shit out of the fact that I let them watch their scenes and they'll actually listen to my boss fight rundowns. They might be ultimately slow as balls, but I'm impressed so far with the average Lv.50 dope's ability to learn and adapt to dodging shit, especially during the first Ultima fight. I suppose it's in their best interest to not suck because it's the final quest that grants them access to primal/relic weapons.

One fight was so damn slow that I found out the hard way that each primal phase can use their 'astral flow' repeatedly until you damage enough to trigger the primal to get spat out. We ate 2 from each primal in a single fight... but somehow we never wiped!

I actually want to praise the Ultima phase1 fight itself for mixing up all the primal stuff into a AoE dodge quiz blender. Garuda vortex > Titan Geocrush is pretty neat (though I imagine not so much for folks with bad latency). Makes me want this as a hardmode fight with some incentive behind it.

I fully expect CM and Prae to be the hard modes that they were talking about for 2.1.

The first fight you're looking for is a Instrumental (and possibly arranged?) version of Nael van Darnus "The White Raven"'s battle theme from 1.0.

Neither final storyline boss battle theme is available on Youtube (it keeps getting taken off) however there was a post on reddit of the entire soundtrack rip which had it included along with the Boss theme from Cape Westwind and CM and others such as the Beastmen Stronghold themes and Binding Coil music.

Started Coil of Bahamut for the first time, but it was with a PUG with a friend who needed a tank, and they started on Turn 2. Told me to get on Mumble.

-Other tank did not have a mic, so he had to use chat
-Wiped repeatedly on Allagan Rot.
-I had to call out when I'm provoking, and when the other tank had to provoke off me.
-Had to kept up Spirits Within rotation for silence.
-One DPS was repeatedly having video card crashes.
-As a naturally quiet person, I was nervous as shit.

Why is this on the praise forum instead of the complaint forum? Because holy shit, I had a great time. BC is fun.
