FFXIV Random Praise Thread: Time to melee RDM

Warrior is quite fun to play (after playing PLD for 30 levels). I definitely notice, even at 15, more damage in take, or my first dungeon as a Warrior provided me a slow healer. Either way, I love how swiftly I can run around (or I know how to play the game better now) and just smash shit up. After 2 pulls (joining a party that was in progress) I felt the party realises that I'm not your usual tank (can't hold aggro) and actually started attacking my marked targets. The initial 2 pulls everyone went for their own thing lol

About the swift thing, I'm unsure if it's because Shield Lob has a noticable lag, my miquote jumps and throws the shield, whereas on WAR it's like throwing a javelin so there's no noticable delay (in fact it's like shooting a missile). Overpower seems relatively weak at the moment (it takes about 1/20th of a bar of a mob's HP), so I'm hoping later I can feel some more power out of it. Otherwise, Steel Cyclone will have to satisfy my WAR-immersion.

Need to finish PLD first (plus story) and then will work on WAR next. Been doing too much procrastination lately.

Anyway... doing leve grinding over the weekend I noticed a dead, moss-covered Treant in the South Shroud. Pretty sure it's for CNJ story or something along those lines, but still thought it looked pretty great in the environment. They really went out of their way to make Black Shroud not look like a piece of crap.

In much the same fashion there's a giant moss covered Goobbue around somewhere too, I forget exactly where it is. Very cool, and kind of spooky when you first stumble across it.

A small quest chain in Eastern Thanalan east of Camp Drybone. Yes I too noticed the Treant but it took me a couple turns to realize what I was looking at (during mining that is).

Grid/Limsa are amazing hands down. Not a fan of Ul'Dah, but then again I never liked canyon/desert type terrains.

I was a big Grid/Shroud fan in 1.0 and I hated Ul'dah/Thanalan, but now I love Limsa and La Noscea. (Although, I hate all the pirate speak that the Q/A team forces all of them to speak in.) I still hate Ul'dah and Thanalan though.

Gridania has the best city. Limsa has the best surrounding areas. Ul'dah has the best music. I have something to enjoy in all of them.

I love token caps. Working a full-time job and still being able to know that I did all that I could in my game is great. In XI, it was hard to stay focused at work knowing that I could be farming plasma!

I think the world might have ended. I was swayed by some people I know to give this game another shot. Soooo glad I did. FFXIV:ARR is what I wanted the first time they announced it! So yeah, I looked forward to playing back in 1.0, had my hopes dashed, and now I look forward to playing a FF MMO again! I also can't wait to get going on some PVP. Ever since LOTRO and Warhammer Online I've been hooked on it. Very interested in seeing what they're going to do with it in this game. Don't let me down, SE!

Did a DF AK last night and managed to luck into a full Relic FC run. Was a pleasant surprise to have a ~25 min DF run instead of 60 mins of facedesking. Pretty much in line with what my FC does but I can only ever do stuff with them on weekend due to timezones.

Yeah they are good if you do the sac pulls. We don't generally do them though so we probably can't trim much off 25 mins (might be more like 27 actually). Maybe if we could down the Priest before summon but we haven't tried it yet (I was only told last night that it's apparently doable)

If it is indeed doable then my friends and I must have gotten some casting lag or something when we tried it. We essentially killed the Priest before Void Cast was complete yet he stayed there at 0 HP for a couple secs, completed the summon, then died immediately.

Hotfix notes include several things that sound very promising. Little bit worried about dungeon nerfs though, thought they would come alongside the iLvl requirements. Then again, maybe they're not adjusting in that direction... but who am I kidding with that statement?

Changes will be made to the way equipment is bound.
Introducing additional servers and enhancements to act as a countermeasure against the congestion to enter "Amdapor Keep."
The difficulty for level 50 dungeons will be adjusted.
The number of areas where you can acquire Allagan Tomestones of Philosophy and Mythology will be increased as well as the amount you can acquire.
Implementation of a population cap for each field.
Adjustments to the spawn rate of monsters that drop diremite web and additional locations where Karakul can be found.
The amount of experience points that can be acquired on botanist and miner, as well the experience points that can be acquired from their fieldcraft leves, will be increased.
User interface elements related to materia and target information will be adjusted.

In addition to the above adjustments we will also be fixing a number of bugs.

OMG THANK YOU!!!!! Got both to 30+ and shit just seems to slow down a fuck load there that it got the the point of beyond tedious, if they make em even half of what fishing can get per cast it'll make finishing them that more bearable.
