Not really praise for FFXIV, but for xivdb.com: it has a search by hunting log, and you can click on each level and see maps of where the mobs spawn. It's really useful, because the locations in the Hunting Log are ass.

I only just figured out that if you click on the gold coin icon next to your gil it toggles between gil and GC Seals.

I like that for some reason.
I always still did the open character screen >Currencies thing.

After being bothered by it since the first day after I got my mount, I finally realized you can turn off the mount-specific BGM. At long last, I can enjoy atmospheric BGM while being mounted (if only the BGM didn't randomly stop playing)!

System Configuration -> Sound Settings -> Uncheck second box from top, "Play music when mounted".

Surprisingly simple, should have bothered looking about 1 1/2 months earlier.

coerthas BGM is actually what made me look for that option in the first place back when i first got there. so much time on mount and such awesome ominous music ruined by happy funtime chocobo frolicking.

It's not as bad if you're riding a non-chocobo mount. Way too bombastic for a simple mount ride.

No one was online when I just got home from work so joined a Titan pug for my BLM.

Wiped once, killed on second try with 6 people since heart.

There is hope for PUGs in this game.

Holy hell, Monk is tons of fun. Definitely has a solid design.
