So I made this party finder:
It not only filled up in under 10 minutes, but everyone was actually competent and one guy remarked that it was the fastest kill he'd ever seen (ignored 2nd jailer set and just LB to finish).
And yes, I did pop a hq earth ward mega potion and survived 5 plumes with 0 mitigation cooldowns, stoneskin, or adlo (as tank) with ~1k hp left. I do remember getting one-shotted before if I ate 5 without using anything so yay it did something! The BRD who popped a potion still died, though.
I feel like your sig makes a better argument for the kind of people who can't be bothered to remember how to spell a name than I ever could.
Am I stupid or did /facetarget always glue your facing to the target without having to spam it? Just noticed it tonight.
What do you mean? It only faces target for me when I begin casting. Due to this I spam F repeatedly as I hit skills with my naga buttons for insurance.
I have facetarget bound to ` and hit that after beginning a cast. Used to spam it, but I noticed as long as I didn't move (or change targets?) I just kept autofacing. Not the best example (since it doesn't require proper facing) but I had a friend run in circles around me as I casted heals on him, and it's not just a "my screen" thing.
heals can be casted from any direction I believe without being interrupted. I don't mind the auto face, I leave it on. It's hasn't bothered me yet. I love it on brd, for blm it lets me nuke a little faster as when I run away I can just cast and not have to position myself again. Not that that's a game breaker for BLM, but it helps
Facing did stay glued for mobs too. I wasn't able to check if it was responsive enough to not interrupt when kited but I could see small facing changes. I don't remember it not needing to be spammed before though.
Got Allagan Scepter finally, 1/15
Yeah it's not enough to prevent misfires, found out today. Nothing really new overall, just nice to know I don't need to spam facetarget button it as a caster.
I wish they would just eliminate the "must be facing target" requirement for casting. It's not balance, it's a nuisance.
Also, I miss casting with my back to the mob like I did in FFXI for reducing enmity produced. (Yes I know it didn't really matter.)
would it be a viable thing to make macros on blackmage to do /facetarget or whatever the command would be to face something after a casting line? so /ac "fire" /facetarget ? or would there be some magical dps loss doing this, I'm already hammering the fuck out of the button I figure something like that couldn't hurt.
