FFXIV Random Praise Thread: Time to melee RDM

praise 2.25 being in 2 days, keeping my fingers crossed ilevel increases on all animus and that we will get the custom stats with this update with a decent amount of time to sink into it. I can't help but feel that getting my first animous was kinda laid back and easy, the second one moving along a lot faster it seems.

Customization, unique stats or even class specific traits that come with it would be amazing. I'm really hoping eventually that is the directions weapons take. I know Yoshi wanted to tread the very carefully as to not create too many avenues to disrupt balance but I think people have a good grasp on what and what can not fly at this point.

Not sure why I'm putting this in praise, but I had a tank in low level DR Toto-Rak who would not flash. They're rotation was provoke to pull and do fuck all else. So I end up cure tanking most of the dungeon as my WHM. Myself and the lvl 50 BRD tried to explain a rotation he could use to hold hate better, and actually did it nicely, but he didn't acknowledge it or change what he was doing. Come to the last boss, me and the DPS go ahead and start while he's in still in cutscene. End up finishing the fight as he gets out of cutscene lol. But between cure tanking the last boss, keeping everyone healed, fluid'ing the adds...it was probably the most fun I've had on WHM so far. So praise for shitty tanks and competent DDs for still making it a fun and fairly smooth run.

I had a similar situation happen twice to me while leveling pld and also sch. In the case of pld, our healer left after the first pull, so we did the whole dungeon with me, a random dps that I don't remember since it was months ago, and then an acn. Whm popped right when we got to the final boss.

Then Saturday night, while finishing my acn to unlock sch and get eye for an eye...we were in haukke, tank drops as soon as roulette popped and we zoned in. A drg, a whm and I did all of the zone, carby tanking everything until the Manor Sentry when a tank finally popped. Took us a little longer to do since we had to be creative with pulls and sleep constantly but we got through it and it was fun. Kudos to them for sticking around instead of leaving too right away.

I got Toto today and had a GLA tank while I was on BLM. Didn't say a word, proceeded to facetank entire dungeon as BLM.

End of run the WHM told the GLA to quit from tanking, I thought that was a bit unnecessary. Was a brand new, unsynced, first-timer (probably PS4) going up against someone who has done the dungeon a thousand times and had every intention of spamming fire 2 100% of the time. Low level DR is just like that. You can try to argue, teach, change the world, but at the end of the day it's gonna be faster for everyone if you just steamroll it.

Had a very similar instance, forget where, but got to the point where we started joking in party chat the whole way about how we were doing the run tankless, 3-manning it, etc, and even then the tank didn't reply or change anything about how badly he was playing. And yeah, play it like a challenge and it can make it pretty fun.

My group of friends have an inside joke based off of a similar experience. Friend was lvling WAR up and I went BLM to Cutters Cry and did the same thing, AoE all the things and he kept losing hate. Come the end of the run, the healer tells him in straight up caps, "DON'T YOU EVER QUE UP AS A TANK AGAIN". Now anytime someone in our group bums it we tell 'em don't you ever que up as x job again
