So basically, get Wyrm Mail, and while farming other pieces, get DL head and hands. then hope you have wyrm legs/feet and try for Coil groups? Or should it be Wyrm mail, all other DL and then hope for some coil drops?

Also, where would Relic +1 priority go? Wyrm Mail > Relic +1 > other shit, or other way around?

Definitely +1 first. The rest depends on your current setup. Assuming you have full Darklight, your first ToM armor piece should be Hero's Belt of Maiming so you can get your accuracy up to par for running Coil, which around 470. Alternatively you can temporarily downgrade to Hetairos Mail for Turn 1 and cross your fingers that you get Allagan Trousers of Maiming, in which case you could go straight for Wyrm's Mail. Either way, your first two ToM armor pieces should be belt and body, and with the right setup, that's all you'd need to buy for DRG. I ended up losing the roulette on pants 3 weeks running, so I ended up buying the belt first. It's a net gain of 8STR/9VIT from Hetairos Mail/Darklight Tassets (when combined with Darklight Cuirass), so it's still a hefty upgrade.

Sadly if you don't plan on crafting the ilvl70 gear and quint-melding, Dragoon's sort of boned to start off.

+1 first and foremost, and while farming and shit, the DL gear as well until you're pretty much full DL. You'll be farming it while waiting a couple weeks+ for your myth and shit to get the Wyrm Mail (which I just got over the weekend) and my next upgrade is gonna be the belt (Hero's Belt) because I see my biggest increase over gear there. Other than that.. the helmet's solid too if you are having accuracy issues I believe. There's a thread on the OF.. A Rotation Reborn I believe, that lists all the BiS gear (with allagan and what not) so it's definitely a great place to check.

Picked up my earring last weekend from coil, and my choker (it says use the Hero's Choker, but I'm taking the crit because I'm near accuracy cap anyway for what we can do) and then also snagged my allagan gloves as well. Sitting at around 4470ish HP in party now.. feels good. 4550+ with food.

But yeah, I'm going Hero's Belt next (on Monday if I feel like spamming my Myth runs that much) and then after that.. maybe the Wyrm helmet, or replacing the gloves/boots. Waiting out on pants for the Allagan trousers since those are turn 1.

I got Allagan belt drop from Turn 1 so that changes my plan, I had thought I'd be getting belt soonish. Today I will finally get my wyrm mail, then I'm thinking I will do my shoes next because its a turn 5 drop.

debating whether its worth upgrading from belt once I get all the hero jewelry I need, then I could start mything another class at that point.

I wouldn't spend myths on anything I got the Allagan equivalent of.

The difference between the 2 is never going to be that massive and myths are just too scarce to throw away on a sidegrade.

That said I have Wyrm body and I know I'm going to curse the gods when allagan body (T1) drops, and it will, because I don't need it anymore.

As far as I'm concerned, none of the differences between secondary stats on equal ilvl gear can be considered "significant" unless one of them is accuracy and you need accuracy.

Assuming the stat weights floating around the OF are correct (Det = 0.219 STR, Crit = 0.162 STR, Skillspeed = 0.146 STR), the difference between Allagan body and Wyrm's mail would be less than a full point of STR (8.687 STR vs 9.144 STR).

So like Niiro says, don't waste mythology on slots where you already have an allagan piece.

Something I noticed: both of the BiS sets (Turn 5 and no Turn 5) that I see thrown around seem to overshoot accuracy. Doesn't it make more sense to take food into account? There is ACC+13-14 food that's extremely cheap (200-400g per) and that would allow you to swap some of the jewelry around.

My current (and planned) Coil set is at 462-464 ACC, which means cheap food puts me at 475+ acc (100% in Turn 4).

I'm not sure why head would be desirable (besides for looks) allagan drops from t2 and is considered better statwise (whether marginal or otherwise). I am going for feet next because its turn 5, filling out my jewelry and then gearing another job.

Got my body, no regrets. Even if the Allagan one drops from T1 I don't think I will feel bad about it, I mean AF2 body is marginally better statwise, but significantly better aesthetically :3

p sure that acc becomes redundant with BiS allagan/AF2

which is a shame since AF2 helm is sexy

I agree that I wouldn't get the AF2 body if you already have the Allagan body, but IMO, the Allagan body blows chunks :< Just my opinion there.

I'm in the minority that is really, really sick of looking the same over and over and over.

If Allagan body drops I will massively regret buying AF2 body, both because of the wasted myths and that I would rather not continue wearing slight variations of the same gear forever and ever.
