Just looking over that set, I'd say Tremor Earrings; lose 5 Crit gain 11 Det.
Just looking over that set, I'd say Tremor Earrings; lose 5 Crit gain 11 Det.
Should be something like:
Allagan Spear
Allagan Visor of Maiming
Wyrm's Mail
Allagan Gauntlets of Maiming
Hero's Belt of Maiming
Allagan Trousers of Maiming
Allagan Sollerets of Maiming
Allagan Choker of Maiming
Tremor Earrings of Striking
Inferno Bangle of Striking
Vortex Ring of Striking
Allagan Ring of Striking

BiS changes every day right now since Determination aswell as Accuracy cap for t5 is being reexamined; credits to EMX and those guys from the Rotation Reborn thread on OF.
A number of BiS lists based on different situations are on the OF now. As Kiceo said they've also changed a bit because STR:DTR is now considered to be around 3:1. (i.e. determination got better). Interestingly enough, from what I saw yesterday, the new BiS lists do not include any primal accessories. It's generally considered better to aim for 263 (i think?) accuracy with gear and boost that up with food for T5.
Yup there's a lot BiS sets floating around right now, maybe this list helps more than what I posted earlier (again, credit to the guys in the Rotation Reborn thread): http://pastie.org/private/qpfxgvdvj1hmlkxiwt5tq
I like this build personally, http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/LIMP it is what I am working towards. I think the accuracy is considered a bit high, but not sure what would be a better option.
I think they're figuring out you can do Turn 5 with like.. 464 accuracy + food or something which is nice.
You'll still miss with that amount of accuracy, it'll just be very few and far between. I was playing around with it one night and missed a couple at 460ish and once at like 475.
On the subject of the best food: for someone with an absurdly high amount of accuracy (528), I'm not sure I see the benefit of Deviled Eggs +1 vs Buttons +1. Does the additional 3% Crit really outweigh the 5% DET from Buttons?
Oh, not at all.
To reach the accuracy cap, it is ever-so-marginally better to use HQ eggs and have less accuracy from gear. This is compared to having all your accuracy from gear and using buttons. But that doesn't apply to you because you don't need any accuracy from food in the first place.
For myself personally, i89 with capped accuracy, I like to use black truffle risotto.![]()
The stats of black truffle vs % isn't want it seems. It says you get can possibly get more points then buttons but I never do because the % is lower.
Just something I did for my own curiosity but I figured I might as well share it anyway.
Comparison of 2 STR vs 10 DTR on damage.
2 anomalies to note:
-The abnormally low "Low" value for Heavy Thrust in the first set
-The abnormally low "Low" value for AA in the second set
Both can probably be attributed to Heavy being inactive for a single data point, as the averages for both sets come out even in the end.
Used Heavy Thrust to inflate the numbers a bit to better suss out any difference.
Obviously not terribly extensive, I basically just did this on a whim because I came across Ultima neck and decided to compare it to Allagan Maiming.
The most you can gather from this little info is that the DTR, ever so slightly, does win out over the STR. It can only be observed with the Full Thrust low/high being 1 higher in the second test as well as the average being 3 points higher.
For such a small difference in stats it makes sense that only the highest damage WS might show any difference, all of the other low/highs are the same (sans anomalies).
I'm not entirely convinced on that. You're not even at a 95% confidence that 539-595 is the range on your top group. Not that I'm saying it's wrong, but there just may not be quite enough data to make a definitive conclusion like that quite yet.
The High-Lows were the same at 70 WSs as they were at 145, that was good enough for me.
(this was obviously all automated so I could have done as many as I wanted but like I said this was mostly just for my own curiosity)
I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm just saying there are a few things that strike me as a little odd.
Just for my own sake, to put some numbers on my intuition: I don't know exactly the way the rounding system works, but the fact that you went up 1 minimum and 1 maximum damage means you shifted your "average" damage by .75>x>.25. So the very minimum shift is .25, or a 0.0444% increase in damage, and the maximum is a 0.1335% increase. Even assuming a minimum shift, that's a .15 shift on Vorpal, a .128 shift on Heavy, and a .115 shift on True. The chances that none of those push you over any changing points is 10.5%.
Silly question: If I'm saving Spineshatter for gap-closing, do I still wanna use Jump whenever it's up or should I wait for Power Surge?
I also calculated time of attacks, gcds, jumps, PS's, etc and came to the conclusion to just PS Jump for the first one, in 40 secs jump, in 40 more secs PS jump again. So save PS for jump, but dont save jump for PS.
Since this was the last thread that talked about ACC requirements, I can confirm that Flank/Rear/Front do indeed have different ACC requirements. Did some testing on the lvl 50 Dummy in Coerthas with my lvl 43 DRG alt since I can't bring my ACC any lower than 341 on myself.
Swings / Hit - Hit Rate%
ACC: 285
Front: 902 / 693 - 76.83%
Flank: 990 / 782 - 82.93%
Rear: 905 / 803 - 88.73%
ACC: 300
Front: 1001 / 819 - 81.82%
Flank: 1004 / 867 - 86.35%
Rear: 914 / 843 - 92.23%
ACC: 320
Front: 1009 / 894 - 88.6%
Flank: 966 / 899 - 93.06%
Rear: 970 / 948 - 97.73%
ACC: 341
Front: 949 / 898 - 94.63%
Flank: 861 / 861 - 100%
Rear: 743 / 743 - 100%
ACC: 367
Front: 900 / 900 - 100%
Basically reminds me of FFT where your hit rate% went up or down depending on where you were attacking the enemy.
In case people are skeptical of this results, this has been corroborated by the official forums as well with WAR. Very interesting and explanatory finding.
