Pointing this out before someone gets axed, if anyone was trying to do the battlefields in some shady way take care they are working on it and will take actions.
"We have confirmed that there is an issue with the instanced battles against Dhorme Chimaira and Hydra during the quest "A Relic Reborn" wherein monsters will stop moving as a result of certain player actions.
This issue is currently under investigation. If a player wilfully continues to battle an immobilized monster, the player will be in violation of the user agreement. The game logs of violators will be investigated, and those who are found to be in violation may be subject to punishment, such as a character data rollback or account termination. Please do not try to take advantage of this issue.
In the event that a monster is accidentally rendered immobile, we please ask that all members of the party leave the instance before re-attempting.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
It's doable - http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...acter/1352443/
not having ilv90 stuff would be yea
I'm really on the fence about this kind of stuff, I understand it from SEs perspective, you're exploiting. At the same time though, I don't think players should be punished for taking advantage of something that's not been developed properly. I don't know, it's a iffy situation.
SE's game, SE's rules.
Gotcha
I just don't feel players should be punished for it, that would be like SE rolling back everyone who did AK speed runs because they were going against the initial design of the dungeon. Now I have to wait 30+ mins for an instance to open up because people have to spend an extra 45 mins clearing trash.
They didn't test any of the game past Lv30, I personally don't care if people turn it to shit past that because it's on SE as is everything else.
AK wasn't exploiting.
Titan was pathetic exploiting - it took more effort/time to kill than just not sucking.
Yep, we have gotten the bug where Hydra dies, duty does not complete and you are stuck in the instance with no way out. If they were quicker to mention bugs that punish the player alongside the ones that are exploitative (perhaps in some kind of Known issue list that was actually kept updated) would be super nice and wouldn't feel like we are naughty children breaking their toys. It sounds like you have to do something special to proc it so I guess the idea is to tell people not to do that.
I actually have pretty strong feelings on this one.
It's asinine to say it's the players responsibility to make sure they are playing within the intentions of some company. That's total and complete bullshit. (Lets also not forget SE's track record of making things as obscure as possible.)
No game will ever be 100% bug free, but it is SE's responsibility to make sure these things aren't possible. And when the occasional bug does slip through, it is their responsibility to find and fix it quickly. The Hydra stuff has been going on for weeks, and it's just now being addressed (let alone when it will be fixed)?!? If they had this taken care of shortly after it started being used, they'd have higher ground to stand on in saying it is unacceptable. But when so long has passed already, that's just sloppy on their part.
I could be talked into accepting a LIMITED PROGRESS RESET as a legitimate recourse for those who do something like the Titan exploit (but Hydra? seriously? the fuck?) but there's no case to be made for anything more serious like account termination.
Is what we call the 'Excalibur technic' count for the exploit?![]()
At what point do they decide what content is "difficult enough" by your definition to warrant a reset? This is impossible, I hope you realize. Some people find Titan easy and Hydra hard (okay, maybe not many - but some might). They either have to blanket enforce it on all content or not at all.
Nothing wrong with this policy. Don't cheat the game.
GW2 is B2P and ANet fixes their shit within hours. Even Neverwinter fixed their shit faster than this and that game was the tits for exploiting.
This bug isn't game breaking as these mobs are easy as fuck, SE should definitely worry more about things like their DF still taking 20-40m during primetimes to queue an instance or the game breaking lag that occurs at this same time - that doesn't really absolve them of not fixing either of the issues (or any others).
This game has all the markings of an SE run game and they aren't doing a very good job of dissuading opinions to the contrary.
