Sorry for the incoming dumb questions. I finally got my control to 318 and was like "hmm I can make a sargna now, I should look into what the relic quest is like now."

I guess you don't need the old relic crafts (ex. sargna) anymore? What's do they rank now for the most part? Just under relic?

And, it's funny I read this because I had been making money making the 1 star lance and bow and I guess those are the relic items now? (No wonder they sell so fast)

What are the melds required for those two pieces? (may meld them before selling if it's worth it).

Is there any reason for people to buy the hq over the nq?

I think something weird happened, or maybe is it just me, please help me out here :

I rushed DRG at start, openend some quest that I thought was relic (not sure, i think in Gridania, sends you talk to some dude in the shroud), almost certain had some "epic" line in it. Note that at that time I didn't have the lvl 47 dungeon done (yay for FATES). So sometimes later I decided I wanted to play BRD, cancelled the current quest (I think I was supposed to bring a weapon back) and went for my dungeon 47, then talked to the guy at the Amda dungeon entrance and then... nothing. No NPC to talk to. Not in Vespay Bay (I think), not at dungeon entrance anymore, nothing at Revenant's toll npc .. what am i missing please ?

When that quest is done you go to the dude at Hyrstmill for starting and progressing A Relic Reborn (nameofyourweapon)

They really made this quest line shitty due to needing to be on the job you're trying to complete it as. I mean, it makes sense, but it doesn't make sense from a party point of view. Last night we tried to get everyone together to knock out chimera for those that need then do hydra. Chimera was a bust because everyone needed be on that one job to complete it and we couldn't get a bard in to silence rams voice(eventually he built resistance to stun and we couldn't stop it). It's just dumb you can't get 8 people together who need to clear the boss because you might not have the right party make up on the jobs they need to clear it as. Pretty counter intuitive with the armoury system.

Could always have to pld silence it... assuming you had a pld. Not sure how reliable that is though.

Or do 2 runs with people swapping to make viable set ups?

Or u could have someone come bard for the first fight and do it a 2nd time for him on his relic job. I see no issues with running it twice if necessary.

These don't have anything to do with the relic quest anymore. They are iLvl70 items, so depending on NQ/HQ/Materia, they are roughly equivalent to Primal Weapons (except Ifrit, since those are iLvl60).

So just to make sure, spiritbonding and breaking down an item with, say, parry, will not increase the chances of getting a battledance materia? it's completely randomized as far as everybody can tell?

If it has parry it's probably tank gear, and you want tank gear for it to become tank-y materia. So I think the question is moot.

PLD = Aeolian Scimitar + 2 Battledance III
WAR = Barbarian's Bardiche + 2 Battledance III
MNK = Wilding Cesti + 2 Savage Aim III
DRG = Champion's Lance + 2 Savage Aim III
BRD = Longarm's Composite Bow + 2 Heaven's Eye III
WHM = Madman's Whispering Rod + 2 Quicktongue III
BLM = Sanguine Scepter + 2 Savage Might III

As with the Chim / Hydra fight do you 100% have to be on the job your doing your relic for on the Titan fight / other primal fights?

Cockblocked on Titan now but making progress well into Phase 3

Anyway ... thing to note is that aluminia salts from 1.0 cannot be used in 2.0 .... unless i am doing something wrong ...

It sounds like they made the act of obtaining the item while on the specific job what flags that part of the quest completed instead of just the possession of the item.
