Anyone found the quest to unlock the companion mode for chocobos?

So that's why I couldn't get the shit to work haha, I'm so embarrassingly out of the loop. Does the chocobo replace your pet (Carbuncle) or can you use both at the same time? Seems like it would almost be a necessity if it's just free DPS.

I haven't yet gotten my chocobo high enough to see, but was wondering if anyone knew if passives from the different branches (Attack/Defend/Heal) stacked? And in Free Stance will it just do everything? Seems like it'd be a good idea to pick up all 3 first tier abilities if so, just to give it more to do. Unless all of its things are on a GCD.

I'd also ask if it's possible to max all of its skills but probably not known yet?

There is only an achievement up to rank 10, which makes me think that's the cap. If you split your points you might not be able to get the last skills.

If that's the case then yeah; you get (level) amount of SP for each level, and the next skill in any particular tree takes (level) SP to unlock.

So skipping on a capstone means you can go up to 4 in one of the other trees, or 3+2 with 1 SP leftover.

Hope there's a way to reallocate or (potentially) get another chocobo. Or perhaps battle-ready Magitek mount will have its own stuff? (Edit: A quick XIVDB search leads me to believe it will, though no idea if it's just "same shit Choco does but everything has a Magitek prefix instead", or unique)

Forever ago they talked about letting you raise multiple chocobos... no idea if that's still planned or not.

Getting from rank 2 to 3 was slow but rank 3 to 4 is simply unbearable, lol. I hope they speed up the exp rate later on.

It wasn't possible in beta and I imagine it didn't change.

I remember in phase 4 I think when you right clicked on the choco's barding, it seemed to disappear? Is that still the case?

There's a whole companion menu now where you can change different parts of barding.

So if we were to specialize in a tree all the way, we could only choose tank, dps, or healer, huh? Can't get all 3 maxed out

Is the multiple chocobo thing confirmed? It'd be nice to have 1 for each role.

Since it's related: anyone with the magitek mount yet? Does companion menu look any different, like a way to view magitek's ability trees? Working under the assumption that it's not battle-usable yet or nobody has found the quest to enable it.
