Because all of his abilities deal less damage than the default one. Flaming Crush has a potency of 105, Radiant Shield is completely useless unless he's tanking and Crimson Cyclone also has a potency of 105. Ifrit should be spamming Burning Strike all the time or you're simply losing damage for no real reason.
Pets on Obey still spam their most damaging skill so that's the way to maximize your DPS on SMN.
Do Fairies on Obey just use Succor?
Bah, Succor, I meant Embrace yea. For some reason I can never get SCH skill names straight despite playing it so often.
On that (mis)note tho, Succor really needs to be targetable.
SCH not having a strong AoE heal is an issue in a lot of situations but having to run in and cast it on yourself just makes it even worse.
Also Lustrate needs a good 10% increase at least, it's useless on anything but WARs.
So I have not yet got my ACN to 30, but once I do I think I will prefer SCH over SMN. So the question is since I put all my points into INT while leveling ACN is spending 10,000 GC points the only way to undo that? I assume If I want to play SCH a lot I need to max out my MND, I guess it's a shame SMN can't use cleric stance. =/
Yes you need to spend seals for the Keeper's Hymn to reset your points. If you happen to have any from 1.0 those would work. I believe they were given out during job quests.
Also SMN wouldn't have any need for Cleric Stance since their INT is massively over their MND.
Sch really hasn't been so bad yet. Went 15 points into int then started to pump them into mnd.
Granted I'm only 39 at this point, so end game could be radically different and the extra mnd makes a difference.
Both smn and sch get a pretty decent boost to their main stat though, so I wouldn't worry too much.
His post may be vague? But it's 1.0 job quests which doled out Keeper's Hymns.
Not ACN related directly but when you raise someone if as WHM you use Medica or SCH use Succor before the person is raised you will cancel weakness
(pretty sure youi guys already know this tho![]()
Has there been any testing about crit hit rating? I was kinda wondering just how good the +25 crit from Maelstrom weapon really is on scholar (like what would be the next weapon upgrade worth getting after it)
Crit hit is very important for Smn. Haven't tested on sch. Can hit primals with a good 1100 fester with crits. Just got my relic and haven't tested it out yet but I am sure that number can be boosted rather high.
Do you just cast Succor such that it goes off as the raise animation happens?
