I tried swapping some STR accessories and Ifrit's damage dropped.
I tried swapping some STR accessories and Ifrit's damage dropped.
I tried using vit food before and it didn't affect titans hp after resummoning, so i don't think food or meds work with pets.
I know when I used str rings ifrits AA damage went up, at least as far as i could tell.
GF always pops MND pots now before she summons fairy. Maybe she just pays 0 attention but the fairy can solo heal everything but the final boss in AK. I see crit cures of 1.3k from it.
Determination really doesn't have a big effect on damage. It's like 7-8 determination for 1 point of STR so any determination loss shouldn't see a gap if I'm adding like 15-20 STR. The result should be higher either way and in my tests damage dropped by 8 damage on average.
Ifrit vs Dummy
Naked
STR+28 (only other stat increased was skill speed)
Gonna go out a limb and say STR don't do dick.
Didn't test INT because I assume pet damage is simply derived from INT, as that would make the most sense.
I might mess around with Fairy cures and MND but I just assumed from the start their damage (SMN) or healing (SCH) were based on our INT and MND respectively.
edit: also their HP appears to be derived from our VIT, which again would be expected
Ifrit HP naked: 1917
Ifrit HP with 6 VIT ring: 2004
So Ifrit is just arbitrarily worse than Garuda? Weird.
Well, no, it really doesn't make sense. ifrit should be doing more damage than Garuda because his main attack has a potency of 120 compared to Garuda's 90.
Well, he should do more damage because as a melee unit he lacks the advantages of a ranged unit (takes AoE damage, has to close with the enemy).
My guess as to why he doesn't probably has to do with the fact that his attacks are split between his auto-attack and primary skill (Burning Strike) and because of that the increased potency of his skill compared to Garuda's isn't tweaked properly to make a difference.
If I recall right, auto attacks don't detract from spells in this game, and visa versa, unlike FFXI where there was a second delay after each time you used a skill. As far as i know in this game auto attack still happens even while your in the instant of using a skill. (possibly even casting, i havent checked.)
It's pretty clear if you watch Ifrit, you'll see Burning Strike and regular attack numbers pop up at virtually the same time and animations overlap just like with players.
Besides this, the whole "Level difference between summons ^_________________^" has not been persistent since post-EverQuest and other MMOs of its ilk. Pets have scaled to class levels since then.
However, one thing people are also overlooking is that even though Ifrit should be doing more damage in combined auto attack/Burning Strike than Garuda, Garuda still has the leg up with Contagion. From prior discussion here, Ifrit's non-Burning Strike skills are ass. Would a damage increase alone bring up Ifrit, or does it need an ability on par with Contagion as well?
Are people using Selene for Things That Matter?
Is Eos just for lazy SCH?
