Eos is not only to heal, that 20% Healing Magic bonus buff can be godly
When you are solo heal I honestly think that the Fairy choice is depending on your playstyle
But if you do 2 SCH and both use the same fairy then it's a waste
I only use Selene for SR stuff, since Eos doesn't really add anything offensively and you can cast offensively as well while Selene spams Embrace on the party.
I use Eos when I need help healing. I switch to Selene when extra healing isn't needed. For ex: If the party is good enough where I am able to assist with DPS via debuffs and Ruin II spam, then I'll use Selene. If I can't or barely have enough time to cast bio/bio2/miasma then Eos is being used.
What do you guys do about Eos' regen pulling aggro on group pulls? I had a Stone Vigil party yesterday where Eos tanked the majority of the very first pull and the tank asked me to put her away or make her stop assisting. I laughed at him and left the party, but she does a lot of tanking with bad tanks it seems. It isn't an issue when mobs are being slept of course, although I've noticed that if I put up Bio/Bio2/Miasma on the first mob and Bane the rest of the sleeping mobs and then proceed to heal the tank, I'll pull hate on the sleeping mobs and they'll come for me when they wake up. It's not the DoTs themselves that do it I think, but the healing + dots combo and the fact that the tank isn't accumulating aggro on them.
Keep her on "Steady" mode, and manually trigger Regen when you want it, is what I do. I suppose since I'm preveting her from using her abilities half of the time, I should probably switch to using Selene... Anytime you manually trigger any of her abilities (yes, even Embrace), she'll go right back to her default behavior of spamming everything as soon as it's available, so you'll have to remember to put her back in her place.
You have to heal the tank even when the adds are slept? Good god, that tank must suck. Fairy heals should be sufficient for the most part. The bulk of your hate is definitely coming from those DoTs (I pull hate too, doing that, but it doesn't bother me any).
I just don't see a use for Selene. On bosses I want the extra healing to complement my own, on trash Eos can main heal while I just dps. Haven't parsed or anything but I highly doubt 0.1 secs faster cooldowns 30s every 30s make as much of a difference as me in cleric stance dps.
I have no doubt Selene is marginally better when you flat out don't need the extra healing/defensive buffs but
A) I'm too inattentive to make sure to hit skillspeed+ every time, especially if/when shit is chaotic, so I end up shafting melees with short/no glow. Either because of not practicing with Selene or maybe because I'm a lazy ass.
B) If mobs are really trash (IE, barely live long enough for 1 DoT rotation) then what was the point
So my friend is gearing up her SCH and she was wondering which DL pieces she should be buying with tomes. I think she has chest piece already.
Anyone know which pieces she should be shooting for?
Personally I grabbed all of the accessories first, mainly because I only had w/e crapass pieces you get from main story quests.
After that I'll probably grab the pants then just work on filling in the rest. Actually had some decent luck from AK so I managed to snag a few pieces of the stragoes which should tide me over for at least a little while.
Figures I managed to snag most of the demagogue stuff for my summoner I never really use unless I'm solo farming as we'll lol.
Had the same thing happen for me with demagogue lol. Also got the Smn book from Ifrit on a freelot 3rd run, but didn't get the Sch one till the 14th or 15th.
I'm debating myself about what to spend my philo on atm, I already got most accessories, bar the earring and right now the pants seem like a really good piece.
It seems to me like the cowl is pretty good and difficult to beat with crafted gear unless it's HQ with melds. Unfortunately HQ Vanya hat + HQ Vanya robe cost an arm and a leg, so most people opt for the cowl. The accessories really suffer from a lack of VIT (they have marginally useful PIE instead) but the iLvl70 accessories are even more expensive to make IIRC, though they seem to handily beat DL.
I'd opt for the pants. Hands & feet are good holdovers too. Wouldn't bother with the cowl as I'd recommend going for argute body as first myth buy. Since you'll be running the fuck out of AK, the strategos will hold you over fine till then.
Kind of just voicing my thoughts out aloud here, basing on heal tests from way back in the thread (now in my sig):
Don't take this as hard fact yet. This is a relatively small sample, I make a lot of assumptions.
-8 MND makes heals go down by...
~14 - Physick
~10.5 - Adlo
~8 - Embrace
~4.5 - Succor
~2 - Whispering Dawn
-8 MND, -8 Det...
~16.5 - Physick
~11.5 - Adlo
~9.5 - Embrace
~4.5 - Succor (no change from above)
~2 - Whispering Dawn (no change from above)
-15 MND...
~27 - Physick
~19.5 - Adlo
~17.5 - Embrace
~10 - Succor
~5.5 - Whispering Dawn
Doesn't seem to be a concrete "1 MND = +whatever" to all heals universally. Might have certain magic number tiers. But for the sake of this train of thought, gonna average it out very roughly. (Difference in heals / MND difference, take middle value of the 8MND and 15MND)
Avg benefit of 1 MND:
~1.775 - Physick
~1.31 - Adlo
~1.08 - Embrace
~0.61 - Succor
~0.31 - Whispering Dawn
Using this, will try to backwards-engineer weapon damage
Physick value for Embossed Book of Electrum (after reintroducing 6 MND via above rates (10.65); +10 to min, +11 to max)
603-639
Physick value for Ifrit's Codex
689-731
net difference
86-92; midpoint 89
89 / 10 (magic dmg difference) = 8.9
Take this next part with an especially large grain of salt, as weapon dmg seems to shorten the mix/max range too.
Avg benefit of 1 DMG
~8.9 - Physick
~6.6 - Adlo
~5.7 - Embrace
~3.45 - Succor
~2.05 - Whispering Dawn
----------
tl;dr, huge grains of salt
Avg benefit of 1 MND:
~1.775 - Physick
~1.31 - Adlo
~1.08 - Embrace
~0.61 - Succor
~0.31 - Whispering Dawn
Avg benefit of 1 DMG
~8.9 - Physick
~6.6 - Adlo
~5.7 - Embrace
~3.45 - Succor
~2.05 - Whispering Dawn
Apologies for any hard math nerds who I just gave an aneurysm.
You can also probably use this to backwards engineer fairy's MND (since she clearly has less heal potency; Adlo and Embrace would be the same otherwise) but I'm too lazy at the moment.
Damnit now i'm back wondering which to upgrade first
