Scales with weapon damage also but that kind of goes without saying. Only checks for stats at the moment of summoning.

Offensive pets you want to stack INT for damage.

I don't care about playing smn, can I ignore it from 30-50 or do I lose too much dps while soloing if i go sch?

You'd solo faster on ACN than SCH.

SCH brings nothing to the table solo-wise, you deal less damage and your pet deals no damage.

I didn't give a shit about SMN and dumped everything into MND. Still used it when soloing. There's no (good) reason not to.

You can use ACN if you want to solo but I'd rather go SMN anyway, it's faster even without the INT bonus. (assuming you do the quests to get their extra abilities, especially Fester)

SCH gets to use clerics and receives a MND boost. That may not beat the pet DPS, but Selene's cures give you decent cures to the point where there's no need to physick.

Los you have 230 int and 320 mind you'll have 230 mind and 320 int.

Also when you apply cleric mind you get a 20% healing magic penalty

Still, SMN's solo capability is far beyond SCH's (and every other job for that matter).

There's not much to solo in the open game world but SMN is definitely the strongest solo job out there, they have a pocket 5k HP tank pet and adequate damage and healing abilities.

Let me rephrase for you then.

SCH = MND boost over ACN

Clerics = INT<>MND and 10% Damage boost

SCH MND > ACN MND means SCH INT > ACN INT during clerics

Pixie can heal you without action unlike ACN pet, so you sacrifice the pet damage for the increased spell damage and uninterrupted fights (No need to cure).

There is no way in hell for a SCH to keep up with SMN regarding soloing speed. This is just anecdotal tripe, very surprised considering the source.

Yeah I will level another DPS job soon so even doing the SMN quests feels like a chore.

I'll see if my soloing speed takes a noticeable hit. I'll get a chocobo companion soon too so that should help.

You can have chocobo and a summon out at the same time. Every single job quest is just a "do one braindead easy fight, go back to quest giver". Titan is flat-out Topaz+1, Garuda is Emerald+1.

Smn is very, very useful for soloing and I switch a lot. You can kill ok on SCH because your pet will keep you alive but it feels so slow in comparison. Sch soloing feels like farming on xi pld...

SCH solo is garbage compared to ACN.

You aren't really casting Physick on ACN either (because Topaz Carby is a boss), so the end result is that ACN is getting damage from Carby + your spells whereas SCH is just getting damage from your spells.

I don't know if it's true that everyone who has [class] at 50 is also going to be expected to have [all jobs for that class] unlocked and fully quested. I hate SMN, so I only have SCH unlocked and geared. (But I leveled THM to 50 back when it was gdlk healer and never unlocked BLM, so I'm probably not a good example.)

Incorrect. When I spritbond in crafting gear my faerie stats go to hell even if I summoned her in normal gear.
