On acn 40+ internal release is a must. Between 3aetherflow to spam energy drain and ruin2 + dots and everything crits within those 20 sec. And if u time it right, can get 6 energy drain in that timeframe.

Energy drain over Fester? Never. God I lover Fester when it crits.
I really wish I could issue pet commands while casting![]()
Just about to hit 30. Where do you unlock SMN?
Total noob question incoming. I'm just about to install and am looking for a good first job. Arcanist looks good - is it fun, and is it useful in groups? My FFXI jobs were BST, BRD and WHM.
Basically, in XIV I'm choosing between this and WHM/healer to start. I know there'll be lots of new players, and so tons of melee and almost no support jobs, and might as well make myself useful.
Thanks!
Also, if posted in wrong thread, please move. TY.
When you finish ACN30 class quest and go back to guild, Roeg lady and some lady behind one of the counters will offer SCH and SMN quests.
Once you do the initial quest of each, SCH come from a guy at MRD guild and SMN come from Gridania (Apkallu Falls, same place Louisoix was in 1.0)
ACN/SCH/SMN are very fun and imo useful enough. Pet damage isn't fantastic but it's kind of an auto-attacker for you while you throw DoTs up and heal and whatever is needed. I would draw direct comparisons to DRG and PUP in XI. You also will rarely ever run out of MP since you can refresh 20% every minute.
Just keep in mind if you want to heal on SCH you'll need to manually place your fairy sometimes so it doesn't derp out and not heal anything.
Conjurer might be easier to start with since you can't queue as a healer on Arcanist until 30 and unlocking Scholar. Unless you have a healer or tank friend to queue for dungeons with, I've heard the DPS queues are quite long and may take a while for you to get the dungeons/primals done.
Oh god pets are smart enough to disengage when you bind with Tri-disaster. I'm in love. Has it been this way with all CC things by anyone and I just haven't noticed?
So Arum Vale first boss is impossible for a SCH to heal? the AoE dot it puts on your pet cannot be removed and just kills your pet, which then may aswell make you a arc healer, nice testing from SE with SCH in dungeons, just like Cutters Cry being available at 38 but no point going as SCH as you don't get Leeches untill 40, really bad design
You do realize that SCH's heals, while less potent than WHM's, offer the same amount as cured -> stoneskin yeah?
Well either my group was doing it horribly wrong or i'm really struggling to see how your SCH dealt with the AoE being at 2 stacks and the quite high tank damage, the point is this isn't the only dungeon where mobs AoE have hit the pet with a player based mechanic and basically getting rid of the whole point of being a SCH, the Faerie, and i imagine with harder things the pet will be useless if it can just be one shot.
You also know you can eat the fruit and it removes those stacks yea?
3 stacks and it will tick the pet for 600 damage a tick so it is too much for sustain to heal, and yes i am aware i can rid of my stacks, the issue is with the pet dying to player based mechanics and people getting to 2 stacks before getting another fruit to spawn and healing being too much without a pet, its not like we died in the first 10% its just a bitch of a fight that quite clearly wasn't tested with a SCH healer
