pretty much lol. But 1.0 had a lot more issues that were just intolerable and not based on server troubles. From my experiences there are only a few minor things, outside of expected launch mmo server troubles, that seem to be plaguing the game now.

They got rid of the ability to select your active quests. Not like, they didn't think to put it in the game but rather a basic MMO feature was in the game and they took it out.

Well I'm unintentionally not preordering the game, even though I've paid and preordered it..

Bought the collectors edition preorder on the SE site. Got my confirmation email. Followed the link to view the order (that allegedly is supposed to have my registration key and download link)... -> No download link or registration key.

Can find other places to download the game, but I can't do shit without a registration key.

Anyone else have this problem after they preordered from the SE store?

You mean the list of up to 5 quests that floats (by default) on the right of the screen? I can't pick which 5 of my active quests go there? Ouch. Hope that gets patched.

As an aside, does anyone know if 1.0 players have to do anything before the launch to get in-game? I assume 1.0 being linked to my account is all I need...

do NOT buy this game direct from SE. cancel your order and buy it from amazon, you'll have your key in about 2 minutes. i waited 12 hours for my key from SE (was not in initial email) before raging and canceling order. amazon fixed that shit up in a jiffy.

I've heard this too. But Amazon doesn't have the collectors edition digital download anymore, just the regular :/.

Seems like I have no choice though. No other way to get a key.

You ain't missing much by not having early access, seems more stressful than enjoyable atm, but all I hear from anyone that has access is . The game is fun when you get to play it, but the hassle to play in early access isn't worth it because you won't get much further ahead of someone starting on launch day currently.

Yeah, that seems like the case atm. I really enjoyed the beta.

I'm starting to think there still will be issues come launch day... Oddly I don't remember the 1.0 launch having this spotty access to servers. I mean, there was definitely lag, but I don't recall issues logging in. Mind you I wasn't really compelled to play 1.0 that long but I'm really pumped to get into 2.0.

So is the choice;

A) a game you can play, but don't want to.

B) a game you want to play, but can't.

I'm being facetious... I fully expect to be able to enjoy 2.0 if not immediately on launch-day then at least within the first week of launch. Even though I want to have the fun now!

Taking that out was retarded, luckily the devs posted a response from all the feedback and are looking into putting it back in lol.

It made no sense for them to take that shit out in Beta4. Was so pissed because I flagged like ten things to do later while I ran around, then ended up having to do them because they were filling up my screen.

Anyone got any useful information on the Welcome Back Campaign? Have a friend that bought 1.0 at release, and would like to try ARR for the 10 free days. Can't seem to find anything on the NA.XIV main site about it. Are they supposed to release that information tomorrow you think?

Just an update for anyone else that didn't get their SE registration key or download link when they ordered from the SE website:

My problem was resolved by sending an email which included my confirmation number to the SE support center. Took them a day, but they resolved the problem and I was able to finish my registration.

Still frustrating, but I understand their servers are fucked right now, and I was more concerned with my collectors items than playing early, so I'm happy!

Launcher isn't accessing the HDD or network...


Edit: OK quitting the launcher and starting it up again made it start up again. I guess it successfully did the large update and now it's doing a 35MB one... phew!

The fact that it was taken out is enough to question everything they're doing imo. There have been other statements and changes that we're rolling with to see how it plays out, but that was just window licking autistic.
