Places to fate grind?

How do you find Fate groups? I never see any in shout. Also what's a good place for 15-20 fate grinding. Is solo even worth it for fates?

sometimes people even talk to each other in these groups, during and after the fates... helpful to start to build some sort of community. This to me is HUGELY important to the life or death of an MMO, the community. There's many reasons why i kept with XI for 10+ years, but the community is a large large part of it.

Just start your own then. There are usually shouts on Levi where ever you go.

15-20 you could do at Aleport. That's where I was and the FATEs gave about 5k each. Can go between the FATEs directly outside Aleport and Swiftperch.

Went 45-50 there (Ceruleam [sp?] Processing Plant) and yea, better than Mordona and a way way better than Coerthas. Was only about 2 groups there (12 to 16) people for most of the time. Honestly felt sorry for the hordes in Coerthas although I kinda hope that place remains the go to spot for the majority. Lol

One thing that annoys me about costa del sol / cancer fateing is that fucking stupid return of the king one that pops all the time. Bombs being bombs, rewards are shit for that one and it pops quit a bit.

CENTRAL THANALAN: East of Black Brush (3-4 fates)
LOWER LA NOSCEA: Moraby Dry Docks (4 fates)
MIDDLE LA NOSCEA: North of Summerford (5 fates)
WESTERN LA NOSCEA: Swiftperch (5-6 fates)
CENTRAL SHROUD: North of Bannock/S of Bent Branch (5-7

-"Simurgh is the Word" lv.23: Surprisingly quick fight against a planty bird like dragon. Pretty straight forward fight watch AoE's, Courel pups spawn near him take care. Decent exp.
EAST SHROUD: North of Hawthorne Hut (2-3 fates)
-"Lazy for You" lv.20: Fight Lazy Laurence a giant ochu. Watch out for his minions as they multiply quickly. Battle takes awhile but great exp reward for the level. You receive a mini fungus minion as a reward as well.
*SOUTH SHROUD*: East and West of Quarrymill (6-8 fates)
-Area is absolutely loaded with fates. My personal favorite place for levels 20ish-30. I leave in later 20's to 30's and head to Costa Del Sol. -South Shroud Below in 25-30 range also pertains to these comments.

-"Attack on Highbridge Act1-4" lv.26: There is a multiple chain FATE here. You fight Quqirn and can rack up lot's of exp.

NORTH SHROUD: West of Fallgourd Float (4 fates)
*SOUTH SHROUD*: Quarrymill (3-5 fates)
-"The Courel King" lv.29: East of Quarrymill is an area called Taker's Rot, There is a 3 part FATE. Good exp!

LEVEL 30-35

SOUTHERN THANALAN: Area around Forgotten Springs (5 fates)
*EASTERN LA NOSCEA*: Costa Del Sol (7-8 fates)
-The Bloodshore is packed with great fates and frequent parties. Great place for this level range possibly even a little sooner.
-"It's Not Lupus" lv.32: Fight Cancer a giant crab. Lot's exp is gained from this fight and upon completion you receive a smallshell crab minion.
-The FATE with the bombs can get pretty annoying to target, you can activate a balloon to attract all the bombs towards you.
-The FATE with the Giant Aurochs can be hard as well because they die so fast, just try you best.
-Lv. 34-35 head over to Dragonhead in Coerthas.
CENTRAL SHROUD: Northeast of Bent Branch (4-5 fates)
SOUTH SHROUD: Camp Tranquil (4-5 fates)
COERTHAS CENTRAL HIGHLANDS: First Dicastrial Observatorium of Aetherial and Astrological Phenomena

LEVEL 35-40

-Lots of great FATEs and lots of parties.
-There is a three part FATE here where you slay the dragon Svara for some great exp.

Boyjee this was awesome, been looking for something like that even if not perfect as you said, it's just fantastic.Also if anyone had doubts on changing from coerthas to n.thanalan, DO IT.My god I've lost so much time, just dinger 48 before maint easily without much effort, really wish I tried it out earlier =P Now I just need to experiment with 15-35 levels with my other classes and I'm golden.

There is a story FATE that happens in that zone, where endless waves of mobs start to spawn and will not stop spawning until you complete the FATE, most groups will farm the mobs until 1 min remains on the timer then run ahead and kill the 10 mobs to progress the story FATE, the most EXP I've gotten out of that story FATE was 185k.

I wouldn't really recommend Mor Dhona for the moment. At least on my server, the area is pretty dry and the FATEs aren't nearly as numerous as Coerthas or Northern Thanalan.

Quarrymill at 25-28 was pretty awesome. There's one with the elvann mobs that gives 11k a pop and it spawned about 5 times in 20 minutes.

Stepped into Ceruleum Power Plant FATE's last night to check out the area, and I am quite /disappoint. This past Saturday I went from 47.5 to 50 in about 2 hours. I was helping coordinate the FATE groups to not turn in items to grind out mobs, not advance forward to trigger progress bar, etc. It was going pretty damn good except for the occasional Tards that would turn in items, despite our incessant spamming not to. Hell even had someone tell me that they didn't care about the exp because they couldn't get any anways and kept turning items in.

It seems like the people there now are completely oblivious or just don't give a shit anymore about getting good exp, something along the lines of 400k/hr. Or maybe just the tards fkin it up for the rest. Saw 0 coordination. Grinding to 50 on any new class they add is gonna fkin suck big ones if the tards to get educated on FATE etiquette.

I do the order a bit different, so i can craft/gather at the same time, its how I got Lv 40ish crafting while going for 50 on my 2nd job (and 30+ mining). It took about 4 days to get smn/sch from 20 -> 50 following the below route and 15->40 GSM and 10-> 32 MIN

13-20: Camp horizon area
21-31: Quarrymill in South Shroud (Black Shroud)
31-34: Wineport / Costa Del Sol in Eastern La Noscea (La Noscea)
34-41: Dragonhead in Coerthas Central Highlands (Coerthas)
41-44: Revenant’s Toll in Mor Dhona
44-50: Ceruleum Processing Plant in Northern Thanalan (Thanalan)

I do something similar, but this list above, does not work well if you are solo, because you jsut can't possibly do enough to get a reward in the fate.

Or you in que for instances, or lvling a craft/gathering and don't want to be in a group.

/revised list for what I do, and getting Lv 50 within 3-4 days from only fates (while crafting/gathering)
it is how I got my crafting to 40's and mining to 30+ while lvling

13-20: Area

Do groups really make that much of a difference to FATEs? I haven't been in many because I've been trying to progress the story, complete my Hunting Logs etc, but I get decent enough XP from solo. Would love to get more though.

For an example, if I get in early enough as a DPS (let's say a minute or two into the FATE) with the Coerlclaw King (the Elvaan mob mentioned earlier in the thread) I generally average 10-11k XP and a gold medal. Of course that's only one example but it's the only one I can remember the numbers for easily.

Do groups give even more?

The contributions of the entire group are counted as one. You won't get more xp for a gold as a group compared to solo, but it's much easier to get there. If your group has done enough to get a gold, you could come in at the very last second and perform a single action and get full credit.
Leads to hardcore leeching, but also useful in areas of very heavy traffic when fates won't stay up for more then a minute or two.
