In XI, hitting level 75 was a marathon, so finally getting there was a great feeling. However, I am definitely happy that is not the case anymore, even if some nostalgia is there. I would never be able to get to endgame this year.

I agree with you to a point as well. That's why I said somewhat. Leveling up is not nearly the accomplishment it was in XI or other grinding MMOs, especially in the higher levels, but it is satisfying. Maybe that's a better word for it.

I also agree completely on the XI grind to 75. When I finally hit 75 the first time, before ToAU came out and the only burn PTs were weapons in sky and bones in KRT, it was an accomplishment (bolded for extra emphasis!). I think most of the reviews and reviews-in-progress I've read so far are all in the same boat. It's a friendly MMO as far as the leveling process is concerned; it invites new players and sends the seasoned ones to end game quickly.

The accomplishments, I believe, will come from the milestones in the story and the completion of the dungeons/raids. This is what most of us are really waiting for anyway.

In other MMO's there was individuals who stuck out. Example: We would know the exact name of the PLD who had a defender's ring, aegis, excalibur, etc. I liked that. I wonder how people are going to stick out in XIV, since everything is obtainable to even friendly players in a great FC as of right now.

You'll still have server/region/game firsts, especially with the introduction of new content. We'll know those people or possible top ranked PvP players. You'll see when the first guy gets a +1 relic, you'll hear about when people beat LoB, etc. I'm unsure of the PvP specifics, but I know in Aion you certainly knew the top ranked PvP player on your server because he was titled as Governor.

I've never really played PvP in anything. Don't know how I feel about it. Guess I don't want to get owned and run around like a coward.

Honestly, beating the final bosses really felt like an accomplishment no matter how easy/hard they may be. It was fun and well done so no complaints there for me. Most importantly it really felt like a FF game.
