For those that stuck through 14, does it matter what race you pick? Is it like XI that eventually gear makes up for it or am I really screwed by picking highlander hume to be a summoner?

Take the race that you think is the best looking that's all
Can easily overcome stats with good gear
Race difference do not scale with level. If you have 3 more INT at LV1 then you will have 3 more INT at LV50.
Pick whichever race you think looks cool.
It's not like XI where a Galka caster is lolmp. There are small differences in states between the races, but nothing more than a few attribute points here or there
1-4 different stat, at lvl 50. As far as I know.
Therefore, not important...
But someone quoted that the different of 3-4 stat made up a 3600 dmg over 10mins. I recalled I read it somewhere in this forum. However, it is true or false, yet to be rectified. Since it was assumed during Beta2 or 3.
It's possible at some point for some thing it may prevent you from reaching a certain tier to max some stat.
What sort of stats are we looking at for a lv50 character? I've noticed that the max dStat is 6 between the highest and lowest racial stat mods, but I don't have an idea as to what percentage of the whole that would be.
0.3%
Its not.
Also if you really don't like your decision after having played around for a while, you'll have a one-time use item that you get as a "veteran reward" for 30 subbed days (Fantasia). Allows you to go through character creation once more for your character.
The closer your race to your chosen class(es) the better. But then plds come in all sizes? heh
Yeah, you can change race. The only thing you can't change is your name (and starting class, obviously, not even really sure why they mention that).
Official description from veteran rewards info:
"Fantasia grants you a single opportunity to edit your character.
You will be allowed to change your race, gender, appearance, date of birth, and patron deity.
*Your starting class and name cannot be changed."
Basically it's a one-time "wow my guy is fugly" option. I plan on saving mine for three or four years from now so I can surprise everyone by transforming into a female Roegadyn.
Good idea!
Just make sure your retainer didn't sell or use it![]()
