Stat allocation for someone who plans to play different classes, can't find an answer

Hey guys, tried to search around but found different answers and I'm not yet sure on what to do, let me explain:

I enjoy playing different classes in most mmorpgs, and I'm a bit of a min/maxer usually, so now I'm considering playing mnk/mrd/pld fairly often and probably trying smn/blm soon enough, now I got a doubt, what happens if I allocate my stats to optimize str/dex/vit?

I'm guessing there's no respec button so I'd gimp myself as a mage, but that's relevant or just a minor thing? Friend says the bonus stats are tied to class/job but in my exp rush I haven't tried to avoid screwing up, and can't find a definitive answer around, maybe I failed at searching...

Also I'm asking right now to avoid having to post, if it's universal has anyone got any idea how to make a balanced stat allocation for multipurpose players like me?

Attributes are not shared between classes. Has been explained many times.

every time you are on a new job, you get to set skills specific for that job, so there's really no need to make a balanced set.

As to reallocating, you have to get an item (something hymn, I forget) to redo them.

Optimize your stats for your class and future job for that class. For the most part there's one right answer. The most difficult decision you'd have to make is whether to push MND or INT while you are leveling Arcanist. SCH operates best with high MND and INT really doesn't matter (can Cleric Stance for INT when you need to deal damage), while SMN operates best with high INT and MND doesn't matter all that much. Kinda sucks that you gotta push it one way or the other, or balance it out and gimp both of them.

The only respec type thing I've found so far is a 10,000 company seal item from Grand Companies. I assume this allows complete respec of attributes for one class.

Ya also (unless they changed it, since I haven't finished since relaunch) once you finish a lvl 50 job quest you should get one for free. (at least that was in 1.0)

I'm not trying to nitpick the whole class/job terminology usage but this is actually an important distinction:

Each class gets to spec its own attribute. Each job inherits* the attribute spec of its parent class. You do not get to respec attributes per job. (Right now, this distinction only matters for ACN/SCH/SMN, but it does matter.)

*or sets the attribute spec of its parent class, depending on your point of view
